The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

I hope that's packaging for an exclusive. I always prefer to be able to compare paint apps if I'm buying in store.
same here. i'm very picky about that.

Me, too. I like to find at least two copies of a figure I want so I can compare the quality of the paint apps before I buy it. That's one thing you have no control over if you order most or all of your figures online. You're stuck with whichever copy of a figure the e-tailer ships you and if you don't like it you have to go through the trouble of getting a refund or a replacement.

At least a brick-and-mortar store gives you the opportunity to take your time and pick of the better of two figures. Although I believe this particular TFA Stormtrooper packaging has a removable outer sleeve that you can slide on and off to look at the figure inside, so checking paint apps with this version shouldn't be too difficult if it actually shows up at retail.

A lot of stuff will probably leak onto eBay, and the Episode VII toys having an official launch date of September instead of just a few weeks or so prior to the movie's premiere (as with each of the three Prequels) will just encourage a lot of product showing up on the secondary market and in the hands of e-scalpers well before anybody has actually seen the figures on their local store pegs and shelves.

Yeah, and it should be the venue in which to premiere the new toys. Comic-Con is being held less than two months before the official launch date.

I saw on Megomuseum BBP announced their Flash Gordon exclusive for SDCC, Flash and Ming box set. Both figures are different than the carded figures, each comes with a sword, Flashes is the one he brandishes at Ming at the end of the movie, and the box folds out to make the Hawk City.

Are the newer figures being made in China or have they moved to Vietnam like with TFs?

As far as I'm aware the new Episode VII figures and other Hasbro Star Wars toys will continue to be manufactured within China, although recent declines in Quality Control with not only paint apps but even the packaging have led many collectors to conjecture that new factories have begun manufacturing product and most Hasbro figures may no longer be coming off the older, established production lines.

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that the First Order Black Series Stormtrooper is indeed the SDCC 2015 Exclusive, the aforementioned box is the figure's SDCC exclusive packaging.

They also confirm finally that more items from the film will be on display at SDCC.

Less than a month to go until we find out! This may be one of the most exciting Comic-Con reveals in many, many years.

The cucumbers are starting to come in! Hawkeye is excited!

I have a 2009 Uhura figure and it's a 7 inch size still in the box unopened. It's one of those plastic packages where you have to literally cut the packaging open to remove the item.

Anyway are they worth anything?

A good friend just bought two Clone Commander Wolffe figures from the new Wave 7 assortment of The Black Series and is sending one to me, so now I don't have to search for him anymore (ideal, since Wave 7 has - to date - gotten minimal distribution in my own area) and can focus on tracking down the four figures I don't have. Awesome! He's a great friend and a fellow collector who understands the hobby. :)

got this in the mail today. its been at least ten years since i put together my last Gundam. took about two and a half hours to put together. i'm really happy with it. i wish my hands were steady enough to apply a bit of pant and marker lines. but i've never been very good at painting models.

Love the CW version of Groove. :D Nightbird looks like an interesting variation on the Arcee mold.
