The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

Ha! My Avengers/Star Wars mashup pic from last year has begun moving around the internet again! I got a notification that someone just tweeted it, and it's getting reposted on a lot of tumblrs. It shall never die!

The most Tumblr notes I ever got for one of my Clintasha things was 100+ for my St. Patrick's Day bash. :( I'm doing something wrong.

George Takei posted my Super Bowl meme earlier this year and it got more than 20,000 shares but I don't think that comes close to what OdoWan achieved with that one great Avengers photo.

I am not on Twitter because I am NOT a twit, and I tolerate Facecrap because my wife needs help with her games, so I don't track any of that, but I do see pics of my stuff pop up on Google a lot.

CCC.

For anybody here who's interested in the first Star Wars: Rebels 3.75" action figures and when they're supposed to hit retail, I can't speak for the single-carded figures in the $6 range but a TRU-exclusive three-pack of Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger and
a Jedi Holocron hologram of Obi-Wan Kenobi
has been spotted at some of the chain's American stores. I have yet to see the multipack myself but I imagine it'll be stocked pretty soon given that the rest of the new figures will likely launch sometime during October to coincide with the premiere of the series.

I saw someone post this on Reddit. I thought we all might get a kick out of it.

The title was: Strange Days, Man.

I'm pretty sure I've been to Walgreens more than any other store over the past month. Of course, it helps that there's practically one every few blocks in my area, so I can visit three or four in a day.

There are six in my immediate area. Unfortunately all six are sold out of their 6" figures, but at least I've been checking.

Off the top of my head:
Two haven't had them at all. Three were sold out before I got there. Two are now sold out because of me. Man, I've visited a lot of different Walgreens.

Three or four of them hadn't even bothered to stock the new figures the previous time I'd checked and of the remaining locations the only one with anything on the shelf was all the way on the other side of town and it wasn't a practical drive or trip for just one figure. Now they're all out of stock.

There's always next time!

Walmart has really dropped the ball in recent times when it comes to stocking new action figures and other collectibles (and then bothering to restock with fresh product once the first shipment has sold through or become stale). The biggest retail giant on the planet it may be, but it's far from the best or most reliable source for many products.

Yeah, it's not everyday you see Captain Kirk hunched on the toilet and Mario arriving to fix it. Toilet humor may be toilet humor, but sometimes it delivers.

New acquisition. DC Collectibles New52 Red Robin. Here he is with his fellow former Robins (Yes, I know! I don't care what DC says, Tim Drake was Robin!)

He's got the standard DCC articulation these days at about 18 points. What is with DCC leaving out the waist cuts these days? The wings are removable, but I really wish they had some kind of articulation on them. It limits the dynamic poses.
