The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

That's my take on it. Either put two Jawas in the box or give him a buttload of accessories or a droid of some kind. Don't skimp on the plastic, release a tiny figure and then expect people to want to pay $20-$25 for the little guy. The 6" Yoda that's planned comes with a lot of accessories including a classic Kenner-style Dagobah snake, so if they make a Jawa there'd better be two inside the box, a Jawa and a droid or a Jawa with a whole bunch of tools.

I agree completely. That's why I held the "6 inch" R2-D2 in my hands for an hour and didn't buy him.

They know that there are a lot of Star Wars character that are that size, so surely they should take that into consideration!

I'd like them to be daring and put a Jawa and an Uggnaut together!

^Starfox is gonna get himself killed.

Yes he is! :guffaw:

Well, to be fair, Doom would get rusted if he did the challenge. :p

Anybody here finding any of the Black Series Wave 4 figures (3.75")?

Snowtrooper Commander? Dagobah Luke and Yoda? Toryn Farr? The two Vintage Collection repacks (Bastila Shan and Dak)? Target stores have been (if they get them at all) receiving Wave 4 figures just one or a few at a time and not whole case assortments and stocking the small handful of new figures, many of whom are in bent and damaged packaging because they weren't shipped in full cases.

The life-size Kenner Boba Fett. Looks amazing. Costs waaaaaay too much, and that's the understatement of the galaxy.

I do like Gentle Giant's Jumbo takes on the classic Kenner action figures, though. They've really captured and replicated the spirit of what we kids collected and played with back in the day.

Rewatching Clone Wars I'd love to see/have a 6 inch Black Series of Cad Bane.
Now that would look mint stood next to my Boba Fett

A 6-inch Captain Rex with interchangeable Phase I and Phase II helmets would also be a great idea. They're making new Clones for the 3.75" Black Series line based on the animated series (Commanders Doom and Thorn to name two) but so far none of the lead officers from the show are planned for the 6" line. Rex and Cody would be good additions.

I ordered the Eaglemoss Starship Collections Enterprise-E yesterday from Big Bad. It should arrive in the next week or so. I've seen pretty decent reviews of it online so I decided to grab it.

Awesome! Congratulations, man! Where did you find him? Walmart like so many other people?

Yes indeed. Wally World came through for me. I found Anakin and a Clone there as well, but I'm not looking for those.

It's really pissing me off seeing all the Cantina 2-Packs around. Oh, you know all those Hans and Greedos sitting on the shelves? Well let's put even more god damn Hans and Greedos on the shelves!

My Toys "R" Us had about eight of those on the shelf when I stopped there yesterday. Like I told friends on collecting websites, had this been released during, say, the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con or been one of the first Black Series items to hit retail last fall then it would be truly and deservedly exciting. The figures inside are fantastic.

But when both Han and Greedo are notorious pegwarmers and rot on shelves it's not the best idea to repack them in a set and expect people to get excited about buying it. Sure, they're preposed in front of a cardboard Cantina backdrop - but why bother when the individual figures are all over the place and often a lot cheaper than their original prices?

Stupid questions because I havent' been tracking the Black Series releases very much...but when is the Vader wave supposed to be out? It may have been already and Big Bad just doesn't have it in but I've been really wanting to get him.

Don't know to be quite honest. Wave 4 was just released but it's barely surfacing at brick-and-mortar retail thanks to the typical distribution logjams of older figures and chains like Target receiving just a few random Wave 4 figures at a time and not full case assortments. I think the game plan was to have the Vader wave (5) in stores by early fall, but since most of us haven't seen 4 yet who knows.

If push comes to shove and you don't want to wait on retail both Waves 4 and 5 are shipping form online e-tailers. As usual, the price is a little higher but you're guaranteed to get the entire case assortment.

Ah okay. Thanks for the answer. Like I mentioned above...I didn't see the wave on Big Bad Toy Store (which is where I get most of my stuff now as well as Entertainment Earth on occasion). I guess it'll show up in their pre-orders soon enough then.

A couple of guys on collecting sites just received Wave 5 to review the figures for their webpages. I think they ordered from Dorkside Toys but I'm not certain. You might want to check Dorkside's website to see if they do have both Waves 4 and 5 available to order.
