The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

I finally scored a 6-inch Black Series Stormtrooper earlier today.

Awesome! Speaking of which, here's what was waiting by the door when I got home today:

Now I have every 6" BS figure I want that's been released so far (well, except for the Biker Scout on his speeder bike). It only cost me $80 (plus shipping) for the Wave 4 case, and the other two figures will be sold at some point, so in the end I shouldn't be too much worse off than if I just got them in the store.

That's so awesome, man! The two most sought-after figures in the entire line, and both at the same time. Well done! They're both excellent.

I have all the single-packaged 6" figures except the brand new Wave 4 Anakin Skywalker and the white Clone Trooper, but the newest wave assortment is just starting to show up at retail and most people haven't yet spotted it. Walmarts are just starting to get and carry the 6" figures so maybe the new wave of figures will surface there.

We were discussing 3D printers on another group and I pointed out it is only a matter of time until someone figures out how to merge a 3D printer with a vending machine so you can get exactly the figure you want in mere minutes with no toy company, no Chinese factory, no brick and mortar store and no on line retailer. These people aren't careful, they will "not carry" themselves right out of business.

CCC.

That was great.

I'm surprised Tony was sober enough to pick up and hold the bucket in the first place.

Four all-new 6" Black Series figures were announced earlier today:

1. Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi (Sir Alec Guinness)
2. IG-88
3. Princess Leia in Boushh Disguise
4. Clone Commander Cody

I can't speak for anyone else here, but a 6" Alec Guinness with the right head sculpt and soft goods could be one of the coolest Star Wars action figures we've seen in ages. Along with Emperor Palpatine he's one of the two characters I've most wanted to see released in 6-inch scale.

IG-88 could be something truly amazing if they put as much effort into the details of the 6" figure as they have all the different 3.75" figures over the years. The small figures by themselves always look awesome and resemble miniature replicas of the movie droid. There are so many tiny little surface details on IG-88's head that would look even cooler in a much larger scale, and I hope they don't skimp on the paint apps with this guy.

My Shelf Avengers have a new favorite game:

(poor clueless Dane doesn't get that Wasp was making a dirty joke!)

All fun and games until someone loses an arm:

Oh, Janet. Don't flirt with Dane. You know he still has a crush on you.

Captain Britain does not approve of Starfox flirting with Psylocke!
