The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

It's most likely one of the two Saga Legends Obi-Wans we linked to. It's the closest we've been able to come to matching the appearance.

Breaking News: The new Toys 'R' Us-exclusive Speeder Bike action figure and vehicle set has been reported hitting numerous TRU stores from the West Coast to the St. Louis area, but so far nothing east of the Mississippi. Keep your eyes peeled if you're interested in this set! It'll cost $21.99, comes packed four to a case and will likely go fast.

St Louis area? Hopefully the Des Moines area can't be far behind, then.

I checked a few boxes off of my missing DC Universe figures today. I've been going nuts trying to find a classic Booster Gold MOC, since I also want the BAF piece. Then I realized that loose Booster Golds and the loose BAF piece are both dirt cheap. Buying them both loose separately saved me a bundle, and means I'll finally get my Booster.

Update!

The TRU Speeder Bike with Scout Trooper has been spotted as far east as Ohio! Looks like it might be starting to hit nationwide so be sure to check your local store(s) if you have 'em.

If Hasbro truly loved money, they would make that Stewart Stormtrooper available to all. I would buy it, and then buy it again and again and again for all of my friends.
They actually don't want your money. They are busy chasing Hollywood's money and trying to rebrand themselves as a multimedia entertainment company (which is why they developed the Hub). Of course they forget that their most recognizable properties (TFs & GI Joe) was developed mostly by Marvel Comics.

Don't forget to include Star Wars with Joe and TFs. A Lucasfilm creation that Hasbro's been making beaucoups of cash from for almost two decades now, ever since the company bought and absorbed Kenner.

I don't think it's a case of forgetting, but rather of it being irrelevant or a non-issue, IMO. Hasbro hired Marvel to develop those properties in the '80s, but they always belonged to Hasbro. Kinda like how comic book creators can create new books for Marvel, but the books are the property of Marvel.

Got another Ewok Pack of figures from Toys 'R' Us today just to have extras for opening. I still can't get over how cute and cool Princess Kneesaa looks...her figure was well worth the years and years of patient waiting and uncertainty.

Looks like the Amazing Spider-Man 6" figures from Hasbro are finally starting to show up. I grabbed the movie Spidey, and the Miles Morales Spider-Man figures. I passed on the Lizard. He looked absolutely horrible. I'll stick with the Marvel Select version, which is still one of the best figures of the year in my opinion.

Movie Spider-Man is an all new figure, while Miles looks to use a Marvel Legends buck, the same one as Future Foundation Spider-Man. It's a little buff for the character, but I don't think Hasbro has a slender superhero buck. Both of them come with cool accessories, though. Miles has his pretty awesome web-shield and Peter gets a somewhat bendable web strand. Both are pretty great figures.

Very cool! I like those molds.

In Star Wars news, the Target-exclusive Darth Maul Returns Battle Pack based on The Clone Wars and Maul's resurrection as a cyborg has just started to hit Target stores across the country in the last day or so. And the most awesome part? Two of the three figures are brand new, the third is a repack of a hard-to-find and cool 2011 figure and the entire set costs just $19.99! In this day and age of shameless repacks and inflated prices, that's an enormous bargain!

Keep your eyes peeled for this one if you want it...it'll probably sell fast.

Little Hawkeye and Black Widow had a tea party with my tiny German tea set (the cups fit their hands perfectly):

This is what happens when girls buy action figures. Awesome!

I lurk in this thread with a fair degree of frequency...and this is the most non-characteristic photo I've seen yet!

I need to finally unpack my old dollhouse and make little scenes for all of my figures. The Trek/LOTR/Doctor Who/Torchwood/Avengers House!

Aw hell. Marvel Legends series 3 has been spotted at retail. I thought I was all caught up with everything I needed from retail stores right now. This hobby never lets me sleep.
