My Micro Machines fly again! If you have any of the original Star Trek Micro Machines, you know that the included stands are absolute crap at holding the ships up, especially for nose-heavy ships like the E-D. I ordered some acrylic flight stands from Litko a while back, and finally mated them to my ships. This may horrify some collectors, but I did have to ream out the hole a little to get them to fit. The E-D is upright now but is still a bit close to tipping, but I could easily fix that with a slightly larger base.

Just a few of my collection shown:

Added bonus: I can now easily use these for tabletop games!

I miss the Kenner lightsaber
I had the yellow one and loved it. Learned and tried to duplicate as many lightsaber moves that I could as a kid. The problem was that my vertically-challenged grandmother kept swiping it to reach for things taller than her (easier than using the stepstool I guess) or fallen things under tables, so the blade wound up getting all sorts of knicks and dents over the years to the point where it eventually split open and became useless to me.

So when Kenner produced new light-up lightsabers during the late '90s with telescopic blades and sound effects, I got as many as I could all the way until the mid 2000s. I had blue, green, purple, and even orange lightsabers--but sadly, never another yellow one.

I don't know if anyone's posted this before, but I found this nice series of videos looking at vintage space/sci-fi themed toys from the late 70s/early 80s from around the release of the original Star Wars. That Star Bird toy looks awesome and I feel it inspired the Marauder Cruiser from the Star Wars Expanded Universe.

Cool! I had that Space Shuttle-looking Alpha Probe toy (I think my parents may still have what's left of it). I can still hear the sounds it made in my head!

I don't collect McFarlane DC figures since they're in 7" scale which is disproportionate with the 6" superhero figures I have. But I was tempted by the classic Darkseid figure I saw at Gamestop the other day. The character is oversized anyway, so I think he would look good in a battle scene with my 6" Superman.

Edit: It's this one: https://www.entertainmentearth.com/...MI2M6-6efHiAMVvtDCBB1fJDgPEAQYAiABEgIMHvD_BwE

The figure itself is 8.87" tall which is actually a pretty good proportion with 6" figures since the character is supposed to be 8'9" when he's on earth.
