The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

I got a call last week from GameStop's regional manager in Houston about my lost preorder. He told me he would make sure it was in the store, and offered a $20 rebate on the price once it was found. And then he said, "Just to be clear, what are we talking about?" I told him the box set & described it for him.

A few minutes after our conversation, I got a call from the store manager in Lufkin, she assured me she had it in hand, would put my name on it & have it on her desk when I was ready to get it. I told her I would be in on Monday, she said she would be at the store all day Monday. I go into the store this morning, 'round eleven, and before the door closed behind me, I saw her standing at the counter, box set in hand, and she asked me, "Mr. Sharp, are you ready to pick this up?" What the hell? How did you know it was me? "Oh, I know my customers." I swear, I have never dealt with this woman ever. Creeped me right the hell out. But, I got the thing, verified that my third and final preorder from May was still on file, due out in October, and after walking out, I looked at the receipt and saw that $25 had been taken off the price, not just $20. Now I just need to get the Wendigo BAF series.

Less than six days to go until Triple Force Friday hits! If a friend's late night finds at his local Walmart are any indication there are going to be some pretty awesome 3.75" and 6" Star Wars figures on sale starting at midnight next Friday.

He couldn't buy most of what had been put out early but he did see a LOT. Provided stores get multiple cases so they can restock after the big rush hits on Friday we should be seeing a fair amount of new figures on cardboard displays and in the actual toy aisles themselves.

Wal-Mart restocked the Marvel Legends Spider-Man: Far From Home action figures since the movie came out on DVD & blu ray the other day. I kind of hid the Mysterio figure Monday night, and went back early Tuesday to get the seven figures in the series, six needed to make the Molten Man BAF plus the Spider-Man without the BAF piece, in the suit from the London battle at the end of the movie.
