The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

This is already ten times better than Assimilation Squared!

Well that's faint praise. What a waste of potential that dull slog was.

So... none of the characters are wondering why the other two groups of people are scaled differently? ;)

I actually plan to address the mix of scales at an appropriate point in the story. Not in the next update (which I'm working on right now) but soon.

Story evolution and character development? That already makes this Action Figure Fotonovel better than 98% of the programming on SyFy.

I saw those! I'd already seen a photo of the TOS Klingon (Kor?) and posted it on Facebook but I was unaware of the existence of the others until now. The Andorian and Vina the Orion Slave Girl look adorable!

Funko stuff is usually fun and entertaining.

Which is exactly why they need to do Doctor Who and Sherlock. They have a Game of Thrones line, so why not?

I'm still annoyed that they didn't do Hawkeye or Black Widow for the Avengers line. At least they're doing Widow for Winter Soldier.

Coming later this year: the Mission Series Bespin Luke and Vader two-pack.

Meh. Two figures for $10. You can do a lot worse, and I kinda dig the likeness on the Bespin Luke. For a budget sculpt with minimal articulation he doesn't look too bad. I can see this set being pretty popular with some.

Nice!

I finally found the 6" Black Series version of Greedo yesterday after looking for over a month. Now I have all of Wave 2 of that line and am caught up with the 6" stuff until the third wave assortment (Stormtrooper, Bespin Luke, ROTS Obi-Wan) is released in stores.

Ok, the really exciting part is that Firefly will be part of the Funko Legacy Line which is their new realistic, and highly articulated 6" line. They've likened the quality of sculpt and articulation to the Star Wars Black Series. They've also partnered with Gentle Giant (you know, the ones that Hasbro is working with on the Black Series.) So, the prospect of high quality Firefly figures from a company like Funko, which digs really deep in licenses is just making me giddy.

I also found the new 3.75" Stormtrooper and Captain Rex from the Saga Legends line. Minimal articulation and just $5.99 each, but for what they are they look nice. The Stormtrooper is excellent diorama fodder but he's packed just one per case assortment so unless your timing at brick-and-mortar is excellent or you buy most of your figures online it's gonna be tough to army build him.
