The 3rd Doctor: Animated

Wow, that's impressive. I'd watch it... and I fucking hate anime.

Christ, Pertwee was cool.

is it just me or is that a very blurry poor quality Klingon at 0:23, and I want the 11th Doctor to be like the 3rd in this respect

It's an Ogron. One of a race of brutish creatures used by the Daleks because of their exceptional strength and low risk of rebellion. The latter is not so much out of loyalty, but because they are so thick that once given orders it never occurs to them to do anything else.

Mat Smith's Doctor doing Venusian Akido? Yeah, I can see that, that could work.

I didn't know the 3rd Doctor was such an action guy. He always looks so harmless. Makes me wonder why all the new Doctors weren't into hands-on-hands combat, even though they looked like they could pull it off.
Then again, the high art is to win by avoiding it, I guess. ;)

as I said blury poor quality Klingon look a like.

I quite enjoyed that... I cringed when I saw the Davros/Emperor show up but thankfully it turned into awesome rather quickly ;) The Cybermen looked quite cool too. I'll have to keep myself updated on this.

Something tells me Pertwee would be happy with this adaptation. He seemed to be the most open of all the Doctors in terms of branching out to different media.

As for the clip, I *loved* it. I love the fluidity, I love how he's still the quintessential Doctor even in a brand new environment, and I lovelovelove the juxtaposition between slick, overly complex pseudo-organic technology so prevalent in Anime... and the timeless quality of the TARDIS and Daleks :)

If any of the Doctors were ideal for an anime, the Third would probably be it.

Saying one hates anime is an equavilent to saying one hates all American animation. It's not a genre, it's the entire animated product of Japan.

It's like saying the British shouldn't bother with Doctor Who just because of some bad British show.

I've heard a number of people complain about hating British television in general. It's died down a bit as Americans are exposed to more British programs, and are more willing to watch foreign television shows in general. The popularity of anime, coincidentally, having a lot to do with the latter reason.

There are several anime animation styles. Pokemon isn't on the same level as a Miyazaki film.
To the average person all anime is either Pokemon, tentacle porn, or Pokemon tentacle porn.

There is nothing else.
