The 37's

Conspiracy theory!!!!!

No seriously, I'm going to believe the "37's" still holds true in the Trek universe.
I'm a LOST fan and on LOST a fake plane of flight 815 was found inorder for the press and mass public to believe the plane & all the bodies were found and not to uncover the truth.

I'm going to say the part of the US governemt that would eventually become the Section 6(?) had some under cover dealings with the aliens that took Earhart inorder to eliminate her from the spy work she was doing.

Far fetched, maybe but this is Star Trek.

^I was under the impression a lot of people who followed Voyager didn't like the 37s (not as badly as Threshold but still). I suppose it can be still part of the trekverse (at least the "prime timeline" where there is a Vulcan in the 24th Century).

I think the reviews on it are kinda mixed.

There's an Earhart discovery story every couple years, it seems. I've posted a couple of them in the forum myself.

What with the new movie coming out, I would just like to draw a parallel between a feature of the real story and of the episode. Somebody was minding their P's and Q's with the title, because "The '99's" were a group of female aviators started by Earhart and others. The group and title don't refer to the same thing, but the comparison is inescapable. This episode has a richness I like.

Here is a quote from their front page at: The Ninety-Nines Organization of Women Pilots and below are a couple of pictures I posted from one of the speculative stories in previous years.

Established in 1929 by 99 women pilots to provide mutual support and advancement of aviation, The Ninety-Nines Organization of Women Pilots has continued and expanded that mission. Today, the organization promotes world fellowship through flight, provides networking and scholarship opportunities for women and aviation education in the community and preserves the unique history of women in aviation.

Following in the footsteps of these early 99s, our members are represented in all areas of aviation today. And, to quote Amelia, fly "for the fun of it!"

I think it is kind of funny that in the Trek universe nobody questions the odds that a group of people plucked from a planet and transferred 50,000 light years away would lose a piece of debris(the Model T) that would flow it space for 450 years until another ship from that same planet, while completely lost itself, would just happen to fly right into that object. I'm mean the odds must be a few thousand to one.:techman:

Personally, I'd like to see an episode about the giant Coconut Crabs.

I googled those things Nasty and very creepy.

Not necessarily I suppose. But you'd think there would be some wreckage either on it or near it.
