The 24 hour wait SUCKS

MGM suppose to be reviving Stargate. I can't remember if Stargate origins or the animated one were the last Stargate series produce.

Anyone remember Stargate? The UK used to get the new episodes months before the US did. Made it a pain to talk about it online.
Good times!

Origins was the last. The animated show, Infinity (best/worst theme song ever, clearly done in one take) was before SGU I think.

I've got it all except the animated one on DVD or Bluray.

Apart from the online prequel anyway. Is that available to buy ?

Not only is it annoying it is incredibly irrational, I could watch it in the Thursday might I make myself wait till Friday so I can watch in HDR. Having said that Friday night is now pretty stacked, you have DISCO, the Mandalorian and whatever the new movie or show of the weeks is on Netflix or Amazon.

I just did a watch of the three main Stargate Shows earlier in the year. That feels like so long ago now.

I remember when the 2005 version of Doctor Who started and it was on the sci fi channel. We in the US would get it like 6 months after the UK. Thankfully BBC America picked it up and things got synced better but that was another example of waiting a long time for shows that already aired.

Remember that one time Channel 4 broadcast that last 4 episodes of Babylon 5 season 2 months before the US, think that was on the only time C4 did anything decent with their American content.

Just felt like starting a thread to moan about having to wait 24 hours for the newest Trek episodes outside the US. All these threads pop up and you wanna click... but doing so is a very bad idea. And then there's Facebook with random screengrabs doing their best to spoil and you've gotta scroll like an MF'er to get past before any of it sinks in.

Woe is us, online Trekkies outside the US.
Are you old enough to remember that in the 80s and 90s many of the seasons wound up in foreign countries outside the US out of order and incomplete, and in some cases many years later? Also in some countries, they were only available on VHS and not on a TV channel and they cost a fortune? Today we have people complaining about paying about $10 US for 10-15 episodes that could be binged when even in the US, a subscription to TNG VHS tapes cost $19.99 for 2 episodes.

Discovery is the most-watched Trek show in history. It is the most available and easiest see...188 countries within a 24 hr period. Rejoice!

Oh I know it's infinitely better than it was in the 90's (my mother spent a fortune on TNG VHS tapes!) or even for things like Lower Decks today. I was just having a First World Problems moment:)

I understand :bolian: I was just trying to lay out how good we all have it. All of us including myself sometimes forget. :)

Yeah. Can't watch Discovery until Friday 9pm on Crave. By then the episode thread is 25 pages in. But at least I get it within the week.

To be fair, when it was years till international release, the world was not ruled by a globe spanning spoiler network.

Usenet called and wants its spoilers back

But, as noted above, it sure beats the 90’s where the Uk was years behind the US and if you wanted to keep up you had to spend £12 on CIC videos that only contained two episodes in potato quality. Can’t complain really

RRP was even higher than that, inflation adjusted it meant I spent £300 to watch DS9 season 7, and even than it was a 6 month wait.

during the heyday of Bermantrek, we had to wait two years for the episodes to drop on local TV and all we got was a pretty shitty German dub.
One day is fine
