"That's Me!" Avatar Week? (Silly idea inside.)

Hmmm... I don't know. I kinda like my anonymity. Plus I like maintaining an air of mystery about me. :shifty:

Maybe I'll meet you halfway -- perhaps I'll use a picture of myself incognito, i.e. one in which I'm wearing a costume I used when I was acting on-stage. Or maybe I'll give in and show the real me. I'm not sure. Convince me!

BTW, looking good everyone! :techman:

Ha, I meant to ask you about that haircut. Did you lose a bet or something?

Nah, I wish!

I had been very depressed for a while when family and friends teamed up on me and tried to have me committed, which I was not ready for. Then they came one day and told me how things were going to go down.

I felt like ½ a man from the things they did to me back then so I thought it only natural that it showed...

I'm in. Can't let go of the sombrero, of course, but otherwise this is 100% real life. ;)

I'll play!
<--------------That's probably the face I'm making right now. :D

BTW I'm trying to grow 80's Goth bang because I'm bored and I feel like it, also because I might have been listening to The Cure and Bauhaus quite often lately.

I like this idea!

Almost used this one, my photoshopped me-as-iceman:

But a nice little portrait is okay.

Beautiful idea, NCC-1701. I realize we can be creative, like I have my avatar, but since everyone is looking so wonderful in their own profiles, I figured all real me instead of photoshopped uniform me would be best.

By the way, you all look wonderful, but I believed that before I ever saw what you also looked like on the outside. :)

J.

<-- This is me. One I've used elsewhere.

Well, some of me. Probably more than enough. :)

This thread is going to read very odd when we shift back to our other non-face avatars.

(looks for Tachy's pic. Hmm. No sign. How unexpected.)

I think that's a rather interesting idea; projecting one's inner feelings onto one's outward appearance. I figure we probably do that all the time (Morrissey's I wear black on the outside, because black is how I feel on the inside comes to mind), but what you did here was taking it rather ... literally, eh? ;)

Either way, thanks for telling that story, trekkiedane. I didn't know that about you. :)

 Wow, so you're a furry character in real life! :p No, just kidding, of course. You look great; I love the sombrero. That's no coincidence that you photographed yourself from the same angle as your regular avatar, right?

... I might have been listening to The Cure and Bauhaus quite often lately.
You almost make it sound like there's a 'too often' when it comes to listening to The Cure. ;)

You almost look Andorian to me!

Beautiful idea, NCC-1701.
Thank you, J. I hope you realize that this means much to me, coming from you. :) Oh, and you're looking great in your avatar! :techman:

Alright, I did what I said I'd do: I'm putting one foot in the water by using a picture of me on-stage. It's a little blurry (and no, that's not my real hair ;)), but it's me. It's from a theatrical production of The Hobbit, in which I played Thranduil, the Elven King.

If anyone wants to see a clearer, more normal picture of me, I'll consider it... if the demand is great enough. :p

Just remember to be nice -- if anyone misbehaves, then I'll use a picture of me from when I did The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and I can guarantee it won't be pretty!

OK, you've convinced me. I've gone for the artistic look of a very uncharacteristic picture of me... :p
