"That's Me!" Avatar Week? (Silly idea inside.)

Me too, sort of. I forget exactly when DS9 ended, so it was either right before my 16th or right after it.

I know that I most have been about 15 because DS9 ended in 1999 (I can't quite remember the exact month but I think it was in the winter) and I was 16 in 2000.

And Neryrs Ghemor, I firstly give you a proper Cardassian welcome to the thread and alas must express my regret at not being able to join in with the artwork fun as my skills are somewhat d eficient in that regard unfortunately.

Okay, I looked it up, DS9 ended on June 2, 1999, making me 16 since my birthday is May 10th. I remember the run up with the final 10 episodes being in the Spring with all the commercials, just couldn't remember when it finished.

I was 18, and I remember the exact day it ended because I missed the finale because I had my high school graduation.

And Happy Birthday bro!

I missed the finale, too. We were out playing football, and I programmed the video recorder for the wrong channel...
I managed to record a night repeat, though, so my best friend and me were able to watch it, after all, a bit later.

I'm late to the party but better late than never I suppose

Though I have to say it is kind of terrifying to see my (horrifically unphotogenic) self there on the screen but then again I don't post very often so I guess it's all good :D

You killed him and assumed his identity didn't you? :p
Look at that face! Does that look like the face of someone who'd...

nevermind.

And to Deckerd: glad to see you join the party. Don't worry - I think every single person on here thinks their av face is terrifying, in one way or another.

Hi Deckard.

But ...,

...why was I under the impression you were a woman and close to my age?

Cuz, I'm pretty sure you told me that ...

Thanks.

but I'd just like to point out my screen name is Deckard not Deckerd

I don't mean to sound pedantic but it's only because I think there is someone on here whose screen name is spelt Deckerd (with two e's) and I don't want there to be any confusion as we're not the same person

Is it too late to join in? This is the first chance I've had to stop by in a few weeks (I started a new job three weeks ago, and we're starting to get into crunch time for the various conventions I'm working on), and so I missed all of this until tonight.

Well, It started on the 5th so in theory it should end on the 12th - but as with all things T-BBS it might last a bit longer...

Go on: let's see you too!

Star Trek: Generations came out when I was 15.

Nothing Trek-related happened the year I turned 15. :(

But Pioneer 10 became the first man-made object to leave the Solar System, right around my fifteenth birthday. And it will ultimately be destroyed by a Klingon Bird of Prey. So I claim that. :)

The Search for Spock came out the year I turned 15. I shed tears when David was killed; it was so sad to see. It was exciting to have the new movie come out as it had been two years (I think?) since the last one. I saw it at a drive-in in my home town that has been around forever. It has these huge metal speakers that hang on your unrolled window...

On another note, Camelopard, I responded to you in the other avatar thread after I saw your new av and laughed thinking about how I said last year that I would crash in and save you and your classical music from your burning home.

But I'm lithe and stronger than I look! ;)

When i was 15, the release of TWOK was less than a year away.

You and I are the same age by the sounds of it.

Sorry, I changed my avatar, guys. Just come back from seeing XI and I couldn't resist. I played for a couple of days, though. Hope I'm forgiven? :)
