That 70's show Danny Masterson to prison

Rapes go unreported because people are terrified that no one will believe them.

Or are send away by the police because they have no time for them.

I can't believe that if Masterson is innocent he would have given such a long sentence.

And apparently his wife files for a divorce

I have no sympathy for scum like Mr. Masterson. It sounds like justice has been served, at least as far as our system permits it.

I think rapists are scum. Indeed, if I posted what I think should be done to them, I'd probably get a warning from the mods as well.

But I also think that ragging on a person who can't reply in the topic anymore is like hitting someone with their hands tied.

Given what usually happens to perps like this in prison, I doubt any of us could come up with anything worse.

Masterson had better hope he doesn't end up in gen-pop...

Seems pretty poetic to me as well.
It's fortunate that the assaults occured in a state that doesn't have a statute of limitations on that particular crime.

I missed some of the earlier discussion from the "men's rights" cult, perhaps thankfully... First, that tired argument of "decades ago." Well, there's very good reason why the statute of limitations is longer (and in some jurisdiction there is none) for crimes of this nature. It can take a very long time for a rape victim to be comfortable with coming forward. Or, like what happened with one of the accusers in this case, a report was filed with the police back in 2004 but it didn't result in charges being pressed.

And the notion of "blindly believing" the accusers holds no water, as the jury didn't reach a verdict on the third count. As mentioned in earlier comments, eyewitness testimony is key in these cases. That is simply how this works. And there is a process of determining credibility of the accusers, which must be very painful for the victims as they have to repeatedly recount traumatic memories.

This is absolutely not an instance of the defendant being railroaded out of the blue without any basis, like the distorted picture that certain biased individuals may try to paint. This guy has been under investigation for years. And the court proceedings have been going on for years.

They filed against Masterton for three rapes at ten years a piece. He was found "innocent" of one charge, or it was just too difficult to make the case after 20 years. Meatloaf quote.

Making a wife wait for you while you are in prison is bullshit. It's like breaking up with your highschool girlfriend before going to college. They could still be on good terms, and she could totally believe in his innocence, but 20 years is a long time, so they may have parted on good terms, as odd as that sounds.

Bijou is the younger sister of McKenzie Phillips, offsprings of the Mamas and the Papas, so she would have some stern opinions about rape, and trust.

I'd make them get in the sub.

He actually got life in prison with the possibility of parole at 30 years (15 for each count).
He was not found innocent of the third charge. They jury was hung. He can still be retried for the third charge. If he was found innocent, he could not be.
