Thanks to the Writers of the Vanguard Series

I just wanted to give my thanks to all the authors involved in the Vanguard series. It was a great and wonderful series to read. In fact it was during this time that the Vanguard series started that I started losing interest in the Star Trek series, but along came the Vanguard series to the rescue! and reinvigorated my interest in Star Trek again.

I hope someday in the future there will be more mini series like the wonderful terrifically awesome Vanguard series. Again thank you for all you guys do and keep up the great work!!

It is indeed a great series - I am about a third of the way through the final novel now and it is (predictably) superb. One of the very best pieces of Treklit I have ever had the fortune to read.

You should view my above statement in the light of my dislike (relative to the rest of Treklit) of original 5 year mission era stories.

With the end of Vanguard there's a real opportunity to continue opening up TOS era in the same way that the 24th century has been. Give us another series or two, follow the surviving Vanguard cast, TOS and 23rd C. SCE crew and show us younger versions of characters from the movies. Throw in some new ships and crews and a big plot arc or two and TOS era is interesting !

Don't let all the good work on Vanguard go to waste...

Relayer, wait till you get to the final 10% or so.. It is one draw dropping scene after another..

Again, let me add my thanks to all of the authors. I am so sorry to see the series end. Vanguard books have always been on my must buy list whenever they are due out.

I kinda wish I could erase my memory of Vanguard so I could read it again for the first time with all the books in hand like in Red Dwarf when Holly had all of his knowledge of Agatha Christie wiped because he was disappointed that he had nothing new to read.

I should leave instructions with my wife that if I ever get amnesia that I want her to make me read Vanguard before my memory returns.

I read the entire series in a week. That was a helluva ride! No waiting a year for a new book.

i have all 8 books, and am now JUST now starting the series, i'm about 50 pages into "Harbinger" and so far really getting into it.

I would like to echo the praise for this series. A great big "thank you" to all involved in planning, writing and editing this series. This series of books has restored my faith in and enjoyment of Star Trek books again. The only book I haven't got to yet is the short story collection but that is en route from Memory Alpha!

Vanguard was a thrillride for sure, but I am glad it's over. Not because I didn't want anymore (I'd love more Vanguard), but because the series got a proper ending, one it was entitled too. It didn't drag on and on like some other series do (Trek and non-Trek).

But yes, a big thank you towards everyone involved!

I haven't read the last two books yet, but I still want to add to the praise for the Vanguard series. It is one of the best Trek stories in any medium ever, and if the people behind ever team up for a similar story again I will be there quicker than you can say "engage".
