I just read somewhere on Reddit, That issue 18 of the comic series...will be the last one.

Really bums me out. I have some of the good issues in my eyes (not every one of them was a winner and that's alright with me, no comic series is perfect or bats 100).

I'll be keeping an eye out for The Art of Star Trek Lower Decks when it comes out next month.

And with the new management with the Paramount merger, I am uncertain and dare I say, feel that a sequel spinoff is seemingly becoming less and less likely.

Sorry for being such a downer, but as a Lower Decks and Star Trek fan, this is indeed sorrowful.

Dang, that sucks. Hadn’t had time to really check out the comics yet (save for the wonderful “Warp Your Own Way”), but this is still a bummer.

By the way, I edited the thread title to clarify what this is about. :)

Oh, thanks. Now that you mention it, the clarity is definitely needed,

IDW editor Heather Antos recently told the "Star Trek Comics Weekly" FB page:

"The series has ended for this current point in time. Hopefully sales of the trades help encourage future series! Never fear, there is ONE more 'Lower Decks' comics story I know of that hasn't been announced yet..."

Isn’t IDW starting more new series?

Yes. There are complementary Seven and Raffi post-"Picard" series, ("Star Trek" and "Star Trek: Zero Point") plus the "Starfleet Academy" mini-series ("Lost Contact"), another "Celebrations" one-shot, and a new "Red Shirts" mini-series ("Ghost of the 21st Century"), seemingly set in the TOS movie era.

So, it's about sales and profitability, then.

Rules of Acquisition and that sort of thing, which would be a very Star Trek way of looking at it, actually, if not a Federation way.
