Though, most of the inter-species characters we end up seeing throughout Trek seem to have needed "help", right?
I think Paxton's plan was kind of silly when you think about it. He decides to menace Earth with the threat of... an adorable baby! But I can see a xenophobe thinking everyone secretly hates the Vulcans as much as he does. Nonetheless, I bet First Contact night included a few to several inebriated humans trying to introduce the new visitors to human mating rituals...
