Terence Stamp has died

Rowdy Roddy McDowall

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
He was best known to American audiences as You Know Who from YOU KNOW WHAT, but fans of the actor will also enjoy his turns in THE COLLECTOR, THE HIT, THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA: QUEEN OF THE DESERT, THE LIMEY and LAST NIGHT IN SOHO, just to name a few standouts. Zod forgive you if fail to check them out.(

He DOES play quite the despicable bastard in THE COLLECTOR, though that was what his role required.

RIP.

Obviously most people on a site like this will know him as Zod, perhaps also as Chancellor Valorum from TPM, a few will also remember him from Smallville, Alien Nation, Elektra and the like. But he was a wonderful, magnetic screen presence, who could go from scenery-chewing baddies to the Christ-like innocent title role in Billy Budd. By all accounts a lovely man too.

The Limey from circa 1999 is one of my favourites of his, pairing him off against another 60s icon Peter Fonda.

He's been in a lot of good stuff, but instead of mentioning any of those I'm going to go with a movie that is arguably fairly average but I've always loved. Terence Stamp plays an immigrant who becomes a successful businessman who is also a drug dealer, and despite his genial public demeanor can be quite the monster. ...Spoilers. ;)

William Harcourt in Alien Nation.
