"Tenet" - 2020.. Nolan's new mindbender

I'm going to bet that you have more interactions with a sad cup of microwave macaroni than real people. Real people tend to not get hung up on one issue ad nauseum, as you seem to do.

Now I realize you were the original poster on this thread, but surely even YOU have realized by now that over time, in every thread I have seen in this forum where the discussion turns to diversity in entertainment, your input becomes the flaming bag of poop on the porch of discussion. (analogy.. I am not literally calling you a flaming bag of poop. I don't know if you are a flaming bag of poop, or flaming gay or flaming straight or just a small sad barely glowing ember of cognizance or even, remarkably, something altogether different) . Rather than recycle all the comments people have made before that you don't like to listen to, I actually have a solution for you:

Learn Russian. I am quite serious. The Russian film industry, while not as vibrant as it was in the good ole days when MosFilm was the biggest studio on earth, it still exists, still makes a lot of content, including sci fi and it is remarkably un-diverse. You can be happy, you can rejoice in the community of your fellow aficionados and apparatchiks of an industry that seems to have skipped time. And the bag will burn forever and no one will stomp on it.
So honored to be interacting with a flawless, perfect virtuous human being. I'm bending a knee in awe

No one is flawless or perfect, but we at least TRY to be better people, and be understanding of what OTHER people go through, that their experience of life may be different than our own. So we try to understand that some of the things we say or our inborn biases may be hurtful to them, so we try to be kind and understand that and change. Trying and kindness is the difference.

Plus he doesn't mind. He uses it to describe himself that way.
And I have African American friends who use variations of the N word amongst and in reference to themselves but that does not mean I get to use it or you get to use it. Marginalized groups seizing words used to demean them is a way of fighting back. Outsiders' use of the same terms is still inappropriate.

who the hell are YOU to use the word "appropriate"? I mean I might say I am wrong for using it.. I might apologize for it.. but who are you, my 6th grade teacher?

I'm sorry if I'm going off topic, but I'd like to talk about the movie :nyah:

Watched and LOVED it. I can understand why people found it confusing and I'm really surprised that the studio had permitted doing something similar.

So, let me understand if I got this right:
If I wanted to time travel 3 years back, I would have to spend 3 years of subjective time going "backwards", right?

That's how I understood it.

Yes.

but I admitted I was emotional and trying to drive to a point.. and if I was amongst actual friends hanging out the most it could be called was something I misspoke.. no big deal. not "right" but no big deal.. but I could admit I misspoke here all day and I could add the person I'm talking about wouldn't mind, but it doesn't matter.. me just cutting to my point instead of using decorative PC language is ALL you folks care about as if you've never misspoken in history. Also .. if a movie wants to have a diverse cast.. fine. but if it doesn't fine. Back to the future is beloved, and the only black characters are musicians and a janitor. Jennifer is basically a token girlfriend with no development. Marty is a typical heterosexual white kid, and no one has complained that he not gender fluid, or any number of things people could complain about. Why? Because the movie told a good timeless story.. and it wasn't trying (right or wrong) to make sure all these checkboxes were.. checked off

Did it bug anyone here that the leads of the original Star Trek were three white guys ?

And hopefully the movie will be visible through the smoke from the wildfires. :(
