(I posted it here instead of the original thread because the admins don't generally like us to post "non-business" posts in QSF, so I generally try to oblige them.)
Hey. Back for the first time in a very, very long time.
Where did the section of the site with all of the yelling and arguments go? Oh wait, found the Enterprise subforum. Nm.

Don't know where to post this question. Has there ever been talk of doing a ST show that's not about Starfleet?
In the SW universe, I'm thinking of Book of Boba Fett or The Mandalorian where it's mostly about bounty hunting or Firefly where it's about an odd jobs crew on a private boat.
They could have done it in Discovery for a season. Burnham had a year where Discovery was still time travelling. We could have seen Book and Burnham doing their thing during that time.

I think Mike McMahan talked about wanting to do a show that's set on one of the planets of the major alien species, like a show set on Orion or something.
But nothing became of it?
That was while he was making Lower Decks so no, I think he ma have just been thinking out loud. Technically the Tawny Newsome Trek comedy that may or may not come out is supposedly set on a resort planet and isnt about Starfleet.
It's too bad. They've got this whole universe they can write about, and they're stuck on Starfleet. I mean, Disney / Lucasfilm has proven there's other markets out there.
