Tell us about your presents!

My Xmas haul was

PC250060.jpg

Lost Season 4 from my son Marcus
Black cat ornament from my friend Dianne
Chat Noir picture tile and Mr Spuck from my friend Tania

and my mother gave me $100 a few days ago.

I got The Temporal Void by Peter F. Hamilton and Galactica Season Four on DVD.

And a shitload of chocolates and wine which are 70% gone, like my will to live.

I got a dalek T-shirt and a dalek alarm clock, a gift voucher from total experience, stocklands, coles-myer. Turkish delight and some body stuff. It's been a good christmas. And a light too.

I got too many awesome things to list. My favorites would be the cookbooks I got, Wall-E (which I can't wait to watch), and the kit my MIL put together for my husband and I to take on the long plane flight to India. It's awesome when someone anticipates something useful and puts that kind of effort into a present.

I always do feel a bit guilty though, being so spoiled with presents.

Won't unwrap until tomorrow, but for gifts I'm giving....

Office Chair (which is why the f$%* I'm still up assembling the f^&*%$g thing) for my Mom

Two photos and a certificate stating that my Dad and I operated a 1950's era Ex-Southern Pacific GP-9. Matted and framed. For Dad. All the more special since he's in a wheelchair and none of the rest of us had any idea how much he wanted to do this until we saw the look on his face in the photo of the two of us standing on the deck of the locomotive. He hadn't wanted to get his hopes up only to find out that he could not get up on it to run it....

Received a couple of gift cards and two nice gift baskets, one flowers, one fruit and junk food. I've already eaten most of the junk food, and used one of the gift cards to buy a book--Julian Jackson's France: the Dark Years, 1940-1944.

Bought myself Burn After Reading on DVD, some slippers, and a new pipe rack. The pipe rack was the last of its kind: the guy who made them died, and the one I bought was the last one the company had for sale.

So far I've gotten:

A Joker T-shirt
A Michael Scott "That's What She Said" T-shirt
An AC/DC "For Those About To Rock We Salute You" Jacket
The Encyclopedia Shatnerica
A Joker Bobblehead
An SNL "I Need More Cowbell" Cowbell
Quantum of Solace for the PS3

...and the rest of my family is en route with bearing more gifts :D

Edit: Oh, I also got to open one early. It's a Hallmark Star Trek Communicator ornament. You open it, and it makes the original communicator noise, and you can press two button and there's Kirk calling the Enterprise and everybody else says stuff too.

I got a some pretty decent gifts:
-Batman Begins
-The Dark Knight
-Hancock
-The Pursuit of Happiness
-A canteen
-A running Jacket
-2 pairs of running socks
-4 technical running shirts

The last three have me particularly excited because I had real crappy winter running gear, and I have to start my ultra-marathon training in January, so I get to go run and be as comfortable as my required distances will allow me to be!

This year, I got a lot of really nice things.
I got:
some nice PJ's from Mom
card from Dad
A Daughter throw from Dad which was from the heart and meant a lot to me.
$200+cash from Aunt and Dad!
and the best present of all: a 19 inch Acer monitor from SANTA! :D
In the next few days I'll be getting a blanket which fits through your arms and covers you from the top to the bottom. :)
I also got lots of sugar free candy and stuff in my stocking! :)

i got a new graphics card for my pc from my sister, a new psu from my partners brother, a couple of judge dredd books from my partner and a cuople crates of lager from my mum.

My wife tracked down a copy of Kinsley Amis's James Bond continuation, Colonel Sun. My collection of the actual Fleming novel-verse series of Bond books is almost complete.

I also got a copy of Steven Lawhead's Patrick in my stocking. The important thing for you all to know is how hyperactively excited my daughter got over me getting a book. A three-year-old jumping and dancing and singing at the top of her lungs about how neat it is that Daddy got a book? Are we doing something right?

Don't recall if it was in this thread or another that I mentioned we were taking a lasagna dinner over to the priest so he'd have an actual meal last night after his battery of Masses were complete instead of a Hot Pocket. Before Mass this morning he handed me a Christmas card with a certificate for $100 of $crip (which is a Catholic schools support program where you buy a gift certificate from them and the business of the certificate donates so much percent of the card to the school). Essentially, he gave me $100 to spend at Best Buy.

The pastor of the Lutheran church I also play for gave me a candle suncatcher to hang during the holidays. A couple at the church was so happy to actually have an organist playing for them again that they gave me a card and $20.

I am musically fulfilled from my two church gigs this Christmas, and I am physically and spiritually exhausted. It's been a very Merry Christmas! :techman:

I got two lovely scottish cashmere scarfs! One in a dark grey/green pattern and another in a baby-blue with a lilac overpane. Lots of matching possibilities!

And even better, we had one of the best cooked lunches ever. Everything came out just right, esp. the crunchy roast potatoes.

Our neighbour got the whole family some Avon stuff. I got a Mesmerize (pour homme, natch) gift set. :bolian:

Now to find the right moment to use it... :(

I got a nice tripod for my Nikon D-40 camera (which I got as a surprise gift last Christmas), several t-shirts from Old Navy, A Boston Red Sox sweatshirt (VERY RED), a long sleeve shirt, a 3 piece luggage set (which had a broken zipper so I'll have to have it exchanged), lottery tickets (I got $83 :)), Crest electric toothbrush, a little note saying my Sim City 4 STEX collections CDs would arrive in the next few days, and one of the reindeer left me an atler in the yard last night (okay it was a little one from a young White-Tailed Deer Buck but still).
