Teaser online in better format

So in the future there is no war, no famine, no greed, no money. We live to better ourselves and the rest of humanity. How come some poor schmuck is bettering himself and the rest of humanity by welding the whole damn 1701 together. Doesn't sound like a great job to me.

Why? Sounds like proud work to me! Just gonna sit around the replicator all day?

Hey, these people are being honoured with the task of putting the Enterprise together -- the flagship of the Federation! The face of the fleet! Undoubtedly they were all selected for their excelence in skill at their craft.

I hope it gets much brighter as in color and not all like Bladerunner which would be too gritty. The old Enterprise was comfortable and sparse (clean lines) but I guess they had to pay set 'art' designers to clutter and change things.

It doesn't look like a cluttered design to me. Obviously there's a lot of stuff on the hull during construction, and big chunks that haven't been finished yet. But once it's completed it should be a pretty clean and elegant looking ship.

I certainly don't get the impression this is another overly-designed Enterprise-E, that's for sure.

It'll be interesting to see what Abrams decided to do with the sensor dish. To me it just wouldn't be TOS without a big honkin' dish under the saucer, but it IS a very 1960s touch.

Looking at the rest of this TMP-style design, I'm starting to get worried they're just gonna go with another recessed dish...

Where's the security???? every damn welder could be a romulan spy for all we know spray painting the romulan star empire emblem on the underside of every one of those hull plates!!!!! :vulcan:

Damn. You gave away the story line.

BTY, I meant cluttered inside. It doesn't make sense to clutter the outside, does it ?

Where's the Occupational Safety and Health Administration when you need them? Those guys should be tethered.

I'm gonna watch that teaser about twenty more times and document every other safety violation I see.

Further, I want to see a new teaser where those welds are being inspected before the Entperise is deemed space-worthy.

In case you didn't notice....a worker is climbing, very easily....vertically up the hull in one shot! I doubt tethers are much of a concern. :)

I think this is why it was bulit on the ground, Starfleet inspectors can't be bothered to take a ship into orbit to inspect the welds, lazy SOB's ;)

Uppermanagement types, you know....

There are several hundred safty vololations going on.....

Take all the openings on the underside of the saucer for instance, if they don't have any yellow do not cross banners, workers will fall out them to thier deaths, man this worksite is a death trap, hope Starfleet has good lawyers....

Wait, they have ONE really good Lawyer, Denny Crane !

This has got to be the most inefficient shipyard in existence! Do you mean to tell me that they haul every individual plate out there by hand, one at a time? No carts, no nothin'? If they beam the stuff out there, why can't they just beam it into place, with some sort of self-bonding agent, so they don't need to weld it? Besides, I just can't buy that that far in the future, we'll be welding these things, anyway - adhesives, nanotech weaving, you name it - not welding.

Also, that must be one hell of a strong neck to support the entire saucer in one G - where is the cradle? Or do we assume that they're using anti-gravity to held it up at the same time they're using gravity to walk around on and in it?

Nice shots, tho :bolian:

^ No pallets, no forklifts, no trucks hauling materials in and out of the worksite ?

We need some experts to chime in ;)
