Teary-Eyed Scenes...

KaineMorrison

Lieutenant Commander
What scenes make you Misty-Eyed?
For me it is the final time we see McCoy.
When he is walking with Data.

When I was a kid, I never saw Encounter at Farpoint.
So I always wondered what episode "Old" McCoy was in.

I never bout the DVD's nor the Videotapes.
I never caught a repeat of Farpoint either.

So, when Season One of TNG was announced, I bought The Original Series on Blu-Ray and imported it from the UK.
It was much much cheaper.
I also ordered both Movie Sets.
I then started in Production Order... Why oh why did they put them in Air-Date order? :scream:

So then I finished all three Seasons and started the Movies.
I watched them all then tossed on Generations and only watched the Prologue.

That made me weepy.
Then again right away with Encounter at Farpint with Admiral McCoy.

And again with Tasha...

I've apparently gotten sentimental...

When I think of what STAR TREK fans might've done to deserve such shitty-assed movies as THE FINAL FRONTIER and NEMESIS from Paramount Pictures ... salt water wells in my eyes.

C'mon, Man...cut it out!...now you have me blubbering like a studio accountant...

The two that get me are Prime Spock' Death and Lol ceasing to function...

The scene in The Quickening when Bashir realizes he's cured the baby, he places it on the mother's chest and she instantly dies.

The climax of The Visitor had me tearing up quite a bit as well as the ending of What You Leave Behind.

DS9's characters just led to those moments because they were so well developed.

The last few minutes of The City On The Edge Of Forever, starting with Edith crossing the street.

Gets me every single time.

:rommie: >>SNORT!!!<<

Alright, I'll play along and share an emotional STAR TREK scene:

Spoilers follow - OK? - SPOILERS!!!

TNG: Measure of a Man

After Riker had been forced into a situation where he had to expose every carefully hidden weakness of a good friend to save that friend's life, he finds himself alone in a lounge, agonizing over this Recent Unpleasantness. And who comes looking for him? Who comes to invite him to come celebrate with him? Who affirms their friendship is not only intact, but is stronger than ever, because of what he's done? You know what? That ... that touches my heart, it really does.

When someone in real life might require some kind of an "intervention," and to "save" this person - from addiction, perhaps, or whatever it is - it may be necessary to hurt their pride. And even though your so-doing may be very successful in preventing someone from ruining their life or even dying, it's not inconceivable that the price you'll pay is ... their friendship. And here's a situation where pride wasn't even a factor and everyone lived Happily Ever After.

Even though it's all so Make-Believe and kind of absurd, anyway, the ending to this story has always moved me.

"He knows, Doctor, he knows..."

I agree. I would also nominate the end of The Inner Light, basically all of The Visitor, the ends of The Wrath of Khan, The Search for Spock, and The Undiscovered Country, and both TNG's and DS9's finales.

...now, that...that was something, man...thanks for opening...and I have been there...something tells me you have, too...

Best teary-eyed scene was treknician1701's "I'm sooooooooooooo outta here" thread. I'm gonna miss the little fella. If it weren't for him, there'd be no Star Trek.

Did not want to go there, but the finality of the Thread Emergency Shutdown, and the thought of those poor Paramount security guards being knocked to the ground by the Box of the Broken Chairs...well...let me just say that I was weeping openly when my Mom called...and she KNEW her baby boy was hurting...

Allow me to counter with this Personal Message - one of Hope and Cheer:

"I'm sooooooooooooo staying here! :)"

:rommie: >>SNORT!!!<<

I'm not sure any of those scenes mentioned bring even a slight tear to my eye. Yet oddly the evacuation of the Enterprise D in Generations does. Pity Britney's lost bear.

As I'm still new here, what is up with that post and User?
Was this like a regular occurrence?
