Tea. Earl Grey. Piping hot.

Hmmm, not very often. That bergamot flavor is not what I want in tea, most of the time.

If starship captains are going to drink tea, I actually think they should drink Lapsang Souchong. But drink-wise, I'm more of a "there's coffee in that nebula" kind of person.

And he never really said "piping hot"... did he?

I love a good bitter tea. While Earl Grey isn't really bitter to me, it's a nice balance of bitter and flavorful.

But that's just the thing, it can be as bitter as you want, it just depends on how long you're allowing it to steep. :techman:

I love Earl Grey. I drink Dragonfly Roobos earl grey. And the scent in the cupboard from the box is amazing! :)

Ah, me, too! I discovered Dragonfly teas a while ago when I had to cut down on caffiene, and the Earl Grey is my favourite. I drink it strong and unsweetened with milk.

I liked that aspect of Picard's character. Always with the tea, Earl Grey, hot. Never any iced tea, eh? ;)

I do drink it from time to time... was one of my go-to teas before TNG even appeared. Definitely hot and with nothing in it. If it's bitter and you need sugar, then it's not a good tea.

Btw, what's up with Picard's distaste for Darjeeling? It's not so bad... ;)

Later on, I discovered a superb black tea: Yorkshire. And the best version is Yorkshire Gold. It's a nice hearty flavorful tea that serves very well as a breakfast drink to start the day. And it works well hot, warm, mild, cold, and chilled... doesn't matter.

I've enjoyed it for years, my current brand is Tea of Life. I always have it hot with sugar, and I let it steep for way too long (it just seems to get better after a certain point).

I tried it iced once and it was wretched.

I didn't start drinking Earl Grey until after I started watching TNG! Now I drink it all the time, just had a cup in fact.

I don't care for it Picard (or Vulcan Princess) style - plain. But with honey & milk it's one of my favorites. The combination is wonderful. I leave the teabag in the whole time.
Been mostly on decaf for around 6 months now. Just one regular tea or coffee now gives me palpitations and unpleasant jitters. Glad to not be putting huge doses of caffeine in my system anymore.

Decaf Earl Grey loses a bit of it's punch, but it's still good. I have to drink that due to caffeine sensitivity as well.

I tried it once and it was waaaayyyy too strong. I prefer mint or chamomille. I know, I'm a sissy.

I drink it, but it wasn't TNG that got me into it. It was my creative-writing teacher; she swore by the stuff for a "start your day" drink.

I don't drink tea regularly, but when I do, more often than not it's Earl Grey. This thread has inspired me to get myself a cup.

*sip*

I like Earl Grey but it depends upon the brand. For me it has to be either Twinings or something even better like Mariage Freres (from France).
