Tarsus IV

Claudia

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Recently, I rewatched "The Conscience of the King" and started to wonder whether Kirk's time on Tarsus IV was explored in any way in a novel (perhaps in flashbacks or so). I know the short story about Cpt. April in "Enterprise Logs" but I'm more looking for something that's focused on Kirk and what he went through.

Does such a novel exist? Or any novel for that matter that explores young!Kirk and/or young!Spock (save for Collision Course)?

I appreciate any help.

We saw flashbacks to Tarsus IV in one volume of The Lost Years, I think the first one. It was also addressed in the Janus Gate trilogy and the Shatnerverse novel Avenger, probably not in compatible ways.

You'd have to hope that Avenger and Collision Course would be compatible...!

I remember Kevin Riley's perspective on the Tarsus IV massacre in one of the books as well. I'm thinking it might've been Probe, though it could have been The Lost Years as Christopher notes above.

Actually Janus Gate trilogy doesn't deal with Tarsus IV it just says it does on the back cover of book three, book three actually deals with another planet that went to hell when Kirk was there as a teenager.

I think it is A Flag full of Stars

Oops! I should've known better than to trust the cover blurbs on those. I guess it didn't occur to me that the text I found via Google was from the cover blurb. I should've checked.

One of these days, I'm gonna track down copies of that trilogy and read it....

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure.
