Tarrantino Attached to direct and maybe write the Shadow??

Love the idea... although I'm having a hard time imagining what such a thing would even LOOK like. lol

I'd like to see this.

Would also like to see a widescreen DVD release of the Alec Baldwin version.

12 minute long dialogues from The Shadow about batman's duality

>_>

Followed by the shadow killing people with Joan Jett playing

Although I liked "Inglourious Basterds" a lot, it left me feeling like I've had enough of Tarantino's formula in his original movies. After "Kill Bil", "Death Proof", and that movie, I'm growing weary of his quirky characters each with their own quirky endless dialog and quirky endless backstories/mythologies. It's becoming old hat and overplayed.

I'd love to see him instead adapt someone else's characters/stories, so this story makes me happy. I also hope he gets to do a Bond film someday, even though he can't do the one he wanted to make. I think adapting something might rein him in a bit and restrain him from the excessive blabbing that sometimes annoyed me in "Inglourious Basterds", tainting an otherwise fantastic movie. I especially think it would be good for him to write less blabby characters like James Bond or The Shadow. Of course he writes excellent dialog, but too much of a good thing...

I liked the 1994 "The Shadow" just fine. Alec Baldwin is underrated in it imo. My imagination has been running wild with this story. He's been looking for something to follow "Inglorious Basterds" and I think this would be terrific.

I am also a fan of the '94 version with Alec Baldwin. Thought it was appropriately atmospheric and also had a nice understated sense of humor about it. And, if nothing else, Penelope Anne Miller was fun to look at.

Am I the only one that really liked the Alec Baldwin movie?

I've always liked it too. Yeah it does feel a bit too "Disneyfied" at times (much like with the Rocketeer), but it's still got some nice dark, twisted humor in there. And Baldwin is awesome in it.

I was definitely getting tired of Tarantino after Death Proof, but I thought Basterds was absolutely brilliant and a great return to form. I can't wait to see what he does next.

I think Death Proof is kind of underrated. Totally different than Planet Terror, but far mor superior of the two Grindhouse features.

Far from it.

On topic, my recollection is that QT has said that if he were to do a superhero/ comic movie it would have to be an original one. If he did an adaptation, he'd tinker around with the source material too much for fanboy tastes.

Of course, it could be that he's decided that The Shadow comics are so antiquated and out of print that he could do what he wants with the character and get away with it. Outside of we geeks, few know the character and even most of us only know the Baldwin movie and know of the Orson Welles radio show.

I'm not inclined to believe this, but I'd welcome it if it were true.

Quentin Tarantino is too style over substance, so I hope this isn't true. I liked it better when Sam Raimi and then David Slade were attached to direct.

I dont see him doing Tarantino dialogue. I don't even really see him crossing over into films. I think he'll be destined to do TV forever. But what do I know.
