Here some of the stuff I've been mucking around with, these last few months:

Thought I'd share some of the manips that go along with the Pike/Number One stories I've been writing.

AOS Number One (Jennifer Garner)

AOS Philip Boyce (Mark Harmon)

Pike and Number One, post-STXI

Also, inspired by the Trek Novel Fest:

Somehow, the whole Pike era thing only works for me if it looks stylistically like the 1950's or '60's, as we saw in "The Cage". It should be no surprise that your Jeffrey Hunter / Majel Hudec images look spot-on to me. And you will NEVER find a better looking Yeoman Colt than Laurel Goodwin, aka Elvis' dance partner. (Britney and "Xtina" and Jessica Simpson all put together could never top that! :rommie:)

Style and substance aside, these are all great manips! :techman:

See, I'm a bit obsessed with Bruce Greenwood's Pike, and have had a blast recasting "The Cage" and "Where No Man Has Gone Before" with actors who I think would fit right in in the new series of films. For example, I could totally see Heroes's Jack Coleman and The Middleman's Brit Morgan as a modern-day Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln (with Sarah Connor Chronicles' Summer Glau as Isis)

Ta very much! I'm actually a professional designer, and love playing around with fan art to blow off steam after a long day working on corporate communications projects.

Pike and Number One, post-STXI

Number One "So, that wheelchair at Kirk's ceremony was just for show?"

Pike, "Either that or I'm still wearing a phaser under these sheets!"

Pike, "Ok, who's responsible for this?"
Spock, "Not me."

:guffaw:

kaisernathan1701: thanks so much!

sojourner: I figure Pike was in the wheelchair since he was still recovering from the Narada, but I personally don't think the spinal damage was permanent. I've been writing a series of story set post-film where he's posted to Starbase 12 as the Sector Commander, and carrying on a relationship with his former XO long-distance (she's been captain of the Yorktown since 2254 since Pike and Spock took assignments Earth-side while Enterprise was under construction).

Also, Vulcan's Glory is my all-time favourite Trek tie-in novel, and I couldn't resist playing with a "reboot" cover based on the original.

Love the manips too. Do you have a site for your fan fics? I'm just glad someone finally did something with Number One for a change.

John Byrne has been featuring Number One as a main character in his Trek comics. It's been very amusing the way he continually finds ways to keep from giving her a name.

fleetcaptain thanks so much! here's the link.

forbin: I'm loving Crew and Romulans: Schism. IDW is my fave comics company right now, thanks to Number One, and their Doctor Who comics.

"Alternate Original Series". AOS is the alt.startrek.creative 3-letter code for Star Trek (2009). Sorry--I forget not everyone knows the acronym.

Ah! I always read that as A-to-Zed, so I didn't realise it was a pun.

I like AOS better. somehow Alternate The Original Series don't sound right. Unless you say TAOS The Alternate Original Series. But then seeing that just makes me think of toes. Pretty feminine red painted toes......Oh sorry mind wondered.:alienblush:
well that's my 2 cents.
