Talk Show Schedule - Starting Tonight!

i actually ordered a HD recorder so i can get some of the interviews and do screen captures. it should arrive on Fri and I'll have all weekend to try getting it configured.

Quinto's not a funny guy on the whole. Pine sure is. and together they're dynamite. they should double up and go to these shows together, like Nimoy and the Shat did before (at least once, I believe).

Quinto on Letterman - he came off as a bit of a douche. I was rooting for the guy but either he doesn't have a sense of humor and was faking being congenial, or he was nervous or something. I'm sure Dave is super intimidating but I don't know, it didn't flow very well and Quinto was just a little too perfectly and sharply dressed to come off naturally.

Imagine how fun and funny that bungee jumping story could have been, had someone else been telling it.

I hope the guy is a great Spock. I like him on that shit show Heroes.

Thanks to whoever will post the interview or link to it in this thread...I'd like to see it because I don't think that Quinto guy is funny -- seems like a nice guy but just not funny -- from what I've seen....

I thought that Quinto's appearance on Letterman was fine -- he was pleasant enough, if not exactly charismatically entertaining. He wasn't hilarious, but I lightly chuckled a few times (like at the aforementioned "I'm jumping off of you" part).

wassuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup? I'm jumping off of youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...

only mildly funny, that.

but it's okay. he did a great Spock in the movie. that's all I need.

It was an OK interview.
I don't watch talk shows in general, so pardon my ignorance... Why was everyone expecting Quinto to be hilarious or very funny ? Is it mandatory when you appear in these shows ?

Here's a video by the way Zachary Quinto on Letterman

Look at the post above yours. Or above mine. Whatever.

Excellent interview--especially the first clip shown...

And good point, what's Quinto supposed to do, flash the Vulcan salute and pointy ears? He did well, made Trek seem "normal".

No, it's not mandatory. People are serious on these shows all the time. (Even grouchy, in the case of Harrison Ford when he was doing promo for K-19: The Widowmaker. He's known not to enjoy the part about going out and flogging the the new product.)

I think that Quinto and Pine together can get this really silly vibe going, playing off of each other -- probably from having known each other before being cast, then working together on the film and then even more on the promo tour -- and it may have led people to look for more of that from Quinto appearing by himself. And he did do it a little bit, but I think his natural demeanor is more low-key, such as you see in the Letterman interview.

I thought Quinto did just fine on letterman. It was entertaining, without being hilarious, and he came off as a normal guy.
