Taking Nominations for Quark's Best Line

I love the "root beer" speech, too.

I also like when he's complaining to Kira about Odo transforming into a mouse and running around all night in his quarters above Quark's quarters. Kira exclaims, "You can hear that?!" Then Quark gestures at his ears and says, "HELLO!" Cracks me up every time.

In the first scenes of "Necessary Evil", before Quark gets shot down, he has a different "air" than we're used to.

In that ep, he...is...COOL!

But in particular, I refer to the moment when the henchman is holding a gun at him. Quark is completely calm when he notes that the girl betrayed him.

Henchman: "I'm sorry."

Quark: "Yeah...me too."

Second moment: That memorable scene with him as Don Quarko Corleone, intimidating the heck outta Nava:

"A very lucrative...opportunity.... Tell me, Nava--when Zek announced that I was to succeed him...were you pleased?"

"Uh...no...Nagus...."

"Did you come to me...and offer your support?"

"No...Nagus...."

"Yet now you call me Nagus--but is it out of true friendship? No. You only pretend to show me respect...so I will grant you this immense opportunity!"

"Let me tell you something about Hew-mons, nephew. They're a wonderful, friendly people – as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts... deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers... put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time... and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people will become as nasty and violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don't believe me? Look at those faces, look at their eyes..."

I always enjoy his philosophizing about humans. Like the example Danoz gave. I remember Shimerman saying in an interview how happy he was to have lines like the ones he has in "Little Green Men" where Quark judges humanity harshly for its stupid vices, a bit like Spock did in "Star Trek". It's hard to pick one from that episode, but a standout for me was, "If they'll buy poison, they'll buy anything!". :)

I can't remember exactly what he says, but I enjoyed the scene where Quark sticks up for Odo and says that he may be Odo's worst enemy, but he's also the closest thing Odo has to a best friend.
