If we can please cease the ongoing engagement with Flying Spaghetti Monster and discuss the topic that would improve things mightily
Don't mods have the ability to delete things? When conversations get so out of control, perhaps deleting the whole conversation is the way to go? In fact, that might be better than banning people.

Just to clarify the entire fandom does NOT disagree with that guy. The entire fandom on this Star Trek message board does. Fandom includes people on Twitter and Youtube comments too - we can't gatekeep. And if you just look there you'd get the opposite impression - they are all mysoginist racists. Just saying... you can't call Monster insane because he is disagreeing with us as if he has some kind of rare opinion. Unfortunately his opinion is all too common.

You have a point. One that bears reminding a lot.

Or you could the ignore feature.

Apropos of nothing; if someone walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, leaves duck feathers everywhere they go, then they really oughtn't complain that they're being mis-characterised as a diminutive waterfowl. But yes, moving on...
Oh yeah, a Lando movie from Taika Waititi would be awesome. Would we do it with Donald Glover or Billy Dee Williams? Or we could just do it with both, start with a framing story with BDW, and then do flashbacks with Donald Glover.
Why have one Lando, when you can have two at twice the price!? ;)

Oh no not moving on you can't just drop shit like that and not expect some kind of response you don't even know me but this is not about whether or misogynist or not this is about how trendy the backlash thing is. Backlash is so popular you don't include a demographic oh no backlash you do included demographic oh no backlash. That is simply putting story first you guys want them to put the emphasis on his being included first and that's the mistake but for everyone you include there's always going to be some demographic that's going to be left out you can't possibly include them all there's demographics and sub demographics and Sub sub demographics everybody's got to be included in until they're all included you're never going to be satisfied but there's no way they can all be included cuz it's just too many of them. I just read a headline that there's back last over the way Nancy Drew was supposedly killed at the latest mystery novel backlash occurred before anybody even read the novel just because they killed the hero character there's backlash why because backlash is popular so stop accusing me of being what you think I'm being and just focus on telling a good story

So... to the earlier mention of other genre approaches such as westerns. We have already been getting a big fix of that with "The Mandalorian." I also got a similar vibe from "Solo." I'm not sure how a Star Wars movie could go any more "space western" than those without getting too deep into cliche and pastiche territory.

I wonder what it would be like to have Lovecraftian cosmic horror in the Star Wars setting. Looking back at some of the old EU stuff with "Sith alchemy" and the like, there's some potential to explore some truly freaky stuff involving the Dark Side of "The Force."

So, Taika Waitit. I personally wasn't really that fond of Thor 3, but I'd be open to see what he does with Star Wars.

Thor 3 was a good movie on it's own, though tonally awkward for the story it told. It doesn't mean that this is the only kind of story that Taika can tell, so I am not concerned. A comedy writer wrote Joker after all.

Except I'm not a racist or misogynist. But I guess I'll never convince you guys of that.
If you really aren't then it would be a good idea to go back over your posts, and look at how you come across. You have to understand that the things you are saying, really do sound like the kind of stuff that people like that say. So what I would do is go back over the posts that have set people off, and try to look at them with an open mind, and from the perspective of someone who doesn't know you, or know exactly what it was that you had in mind when you wrote them. And if you don't see it, them maybe you could very calmly ask what it is that is setting us off, and we can maybe try to help you find a way to get across any non racist or non sexist ideas you might have in a way that doesn't sound sexist or racist.
If you really do mean things the way, and really don't think you are sexist or racist, then you really should take a good look at how you feel.
