Sylar as spock, did you buy it?

Geez, after watching the film I don't think I bought it. The rest of the cast was great, as every other character fit in perfectly. Except for spock. I'm not sure Sylar was the right guy for it, as every time I heard his voice I thought of Sylar and not spock. I swear he even had the same inflections as Sylar and at times his voice sounded as evil as him.

Bought it, then again that's cause i don't think i've ever seen the actor in anything else.

Who is Sylar?
I saw Spock on the screen. Two of them, as a matter of fact.

Who's Sylar? Is he one of those high-concept actors who ditches his last name?

Perhaps you're referring to the talented Zachary Quinto?

With a couple of exceptions, I bought Zachary "Sylar" Quinto as Spock. When he told the Vulcan Science Academy folks to live long & prosper, it sounded too much like a threat, and when he was chokin' Kirk against the helm, I half expected a line of blood to start across Chris Pine's forehead...

But, other than that, I thought he did a great job.

When I saw this scene, the tone he had and the music cue going into the next scene made me imagine him saying "Live long and prosper, bitches".

I was completely sold on him. The only one who I think did a better job was Karl Urban as Bones

Haven't seen the film yet but from the pictures and trailers, I would indeed say that not only does he physically look like a younger Nimoy but his mannerisms seem on spot too. I'd venture a guess and say that he looks to do a tremendous job.

Yes, the man's brilliant. Loved him completely. He was Spock but didn't really imitate Nimoy. Very nice. Everyone was great, especially Kirk and Nero...and Captain Pike, naturally.

I've never seen Heroes so I've no hassles to deal with there, not that I usually have difficulty with such things. In any case, Quinto was great as Spock.
