Re: Full list of Star Wars blu-ray deleted scenes

TPM

Trash-talking droids: When Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon first land on the ship, there was going to be a comic-relief scene with two droids talking about the Jedi.

Well, this is a huge disappointment, as there wasn't nearly enough comic relief in TMP!

For some reason, I'm picturing two droids with the voices of Chris Tucker and Chris Rock talking about how they are gonna "bust a cap" in the Jedi's "posterior waste module".

Re: Full list of Star Wars blu-ray deleted scenes

I woul love to have a version of all six movies with every scene put back in! Imagine the epicness!

Re: Full list of Star Wars blu-ray deleted scenes

I'm really looking forward to these scenes. But they are just the icing on the cake. I haven't seen the SW films in a while, been wanting to for months, but I've been holding back to wait for the BD. Why would one not want to see them in the best possible image quality?

Re: Full list of Star Wars blu-ray deleted scenes

Don't care that much about the prequels but some of the stuff for the original trilogy is nice.

Since i don't own any Star Wars DVDs (*gasp*) this could be the one and only release i'd buy (if only they'd include the original, untampered versions of the movies.. i grew up with those).

One question though.. who shot first in this version? ;)

No one. All the guns have been replaced with walkie-talkies.

There were a few funny scenes redone ages ago featuring Han and at least one other character, which involved Han firing his weapon at some point but in the re-edits the other character fires just before Han does.

The funniest one was when they're stuck in the trash compactor; the compactor shoots at Han first.

Also with Greedo, he fires at Han about a dozen times befores they even sit down.

EDIT: Found a couple:

According to this article at Digital bits, who were given previews of the discs. Some of these are small fixes to complaints with the DVDs, such as the lightsaber colors, others are frame and sound fixes. Some are more noticeable, such as the Wampa arm fix, and reportedly Lucasfilm is hinting that we will get a digital Yoda in Phantom Menace to replace the puppet which didn't look anything like OT Yoda.

Wake me when they edit out any reference to Darth Vader, Luke, Leia, or Senator Organa applying for adoption in RotS.

P.S. Han shot first dammit!

What's the harm in fixing errors/production flubs?

Nothing.

Except some of those errors and flubs he's been correcting for the last 20-years or so in all of these re-releases has included changing the very fabric of a popular character and inserting countless amounts of CGI creature bullshit and every possible opportunity.

Those sorts of problems should have been fixed the first time around. Instead we got....well, something else.

Yep, the technology to make Greedo fire first and to have Han dodge it didn't exist back then.

I don't care what was and was not available back then as it certainly did not hurt the movies from doing very, very well in the theaters and become iconic classics.

I've never understood all this whining, pissing, and moaning about Lucas deciding to make changes to the SW films because, NEWS FLASH, he owns the things and therefore has the right to make whatever changes he wants. If you don't like what he's done, don't buy the films. It's as simple as that.

Okay, rant over. I plan on getting the films, and am interested in seeing just how any changes Lucas has chosen to make affect the overall cohesiveness of the saga's two trilogies holding together.
