The song change in Jabba's palace in ROTJ is just mind-bogglingly awful, I cannot fathom how any human being can write, perform and animate such an atrocity without their own intestines jumping up their throat and throttling themselves in an attempt to save the universe from such an act.
Agreed. The original song may not have been memorable, but it set the mood perfectly and felt like something you'd actually hear in a scummy and dangerous place like that.
The new song not only destroys that mood, but it takes you out of the movie COMPLETELY. Plus, it's annoying as fuck.
It gets better.Wookiepedia entry on "Jedi Rocks" notable only for the fact that the song's genre is, I shit you not, "jizz."
Oh. My. God.

Wookiepedia said:The Return of the Jedi novelization introduced the term "jizz-wailer" to describe a musician, but the term "jizz" on its own, as the name of the musical style, was not introduced until the publication of Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina, twelve years later.
The packaging of the 2007 Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes action figure 5-pack refers to the band's music as "jazz", which may indicate that "jizz" is being phased out of Star Wars canon. However, it's more likely that Hasbro did not want the term, synonymous with semen, on a toy package.
More. That never really bothered me, just the execution of it.More or less than Hayden Christensen as the Force Ghost at the end?![]()

For all of the mistakes and faults Trek has made over the last 40-some years at least they've never done stuff like this or any of the incredibly stupid stuff Lucas has done the last 30 years.
Is it confirmed that he changed the "You're lucky you don't taste very good" line?
I just can't understand why Lucas would change something like that.
I liked that line.
Forgive my aging brain; what scene is that from? And where did you hear it had been changed?
Regarding the change to Luke's line...there was a long, detailed discussion on that subject in these parts years ago. Somebody brought up the fact that the original theatrical films had different sound mixes for theaters with different types of sound systems, and that there were some minor dialogue differences in these alternate mixes. Thus Luke's line in the more recent editions may have been just as much a part of the theatrical release, but wasn't the one we'd become used to on home video for all those years.
In TPM, the DVD edition has an added Anakin/Shmi scene ("Be safe" "I will, mom"), an extended pod race (An even more extended version is in deleted scenes) and a long-necked alien selling alien frogs.
AOTC has some changes as well. A deleted scene of Padme comforting Anakin after his slaughter of the Tusken Raiders is added back in. Also Padme's reaction to the clone trooper after waking up from her fall has different audio.
ROTS gets rid of the traditional Star Wars scene transition wipe to Vader's arm.
There is one thing I wish that was added back to ROTS: Yoda landing on Dagobah. The story behind this is that Lucas didn't like the long ending of Lord of the Rings, so he trimmed down the ending to his trilogy.
