Susan’s (Time) War - Big Finish

On it's own, I wasn't interested but seeing that both Ian and The Eighth Doctor will also be in it heightens my interest. I'll be particularly interested who those two interact with each other.

I’ll get that. Sounds interesting. Surprised they haven’t regenerated her yet.

Given the last parting of the Eighth Doctor and Susan, I wonder how this meeting will go.

So we have Susan, the Eighth Doctor, the War Doctor, the War Master and Gallifrey Time War lines.

One thing I’d be interest in is a chronology of the Time War audios, particularly for the crossovers. Foe example, where does Susan’s War happen for the Doctor, in relation to his own series? Etc. Throw in other time travelling shenanigans like River, and it’s a real jumble. You could even say it’s wibbly-wobbly time-wimey.

Yes, it should.:p

I just saw there's a Susan-Eighth Doctor Short Trip read by Carole Ann Ford, set after the Eighth Doctor adventures where Shit Went Down. Maybe I should get it.
Oh, damn, I didn't know that. I don't usually pay attention to the Short Trips so I completely missed that. What's that story called?

given BF are careful to make Eight's Time War be quite a distance from his present, they might decide that was not the last time they met.

Yes, it’s possible. But I don’t think BF would be too willing to leave the issue unresolved. It would be a bit like Odo & Kira’s make-up discussion in the closet at the party. Interpersonal conflict resolved off-screen does not make satisfying storytelling.

I just listened to it. The issues aren’t really discussed. The Doctor is described as wearing a green jacket and shorter hair than last time they met. He’s received his summons and refused it, so I’m not really sure when this takes place. The story ends with Susan heading off to Gallifrey.

On the one hand, this idea is really fucking awesome. On the other hand, I'd be way more excited if Scott Handcock (Gallifrey: Intervention Earth/Enemy Lines/Time War, The War Master, The Confessions of Dorian Gray) was producing it. Handcock excels at ambitious storylines in general and ambitious storylines set during the Time War in particular.

Not to shit on David Richardson. The dude's produced some great stuff over the years: Jago & Litefoot, The Diary of River Song, UNIT: The New Series, The Companion Chronicles, The Eighth Doctor: Doom Coalition/Ravenous, the post-Trial of a Time Lord Peri & Valeyard stuff starring Sixie, the vast majority of audios chronicling the final years of The Seventh Doctor (including The Klein Trilogy, UNIT: Dominion and The Two Masters).

But his Time War stuff (The War Doctor, The Eighth Doctor: Time War) has been mostly weak and full of missed opportunities. I'd hate to see Ford and Russell go to waste like John Hurt and Jacqueline Pearce did outside "The Neverwhen".
