Survivor: Samoa

Loved Russell offerin her $10K to give him the title of "sole Survivor."

He offered $100,000, and she still turned him down.

Oh well, we'll see how he does in "Heros vs. Villains."
Question:

Was the reunion episode live? If so, does that mean Russell had already gone through the "Heroes vs. Villains" season minus that season's reunion episode (when filming this reunion show)?

Man Russell looked like he was ready to break down and cry. And judging from the expression on his face before Jeff counted the votes, it was as if he already knew.

For some reason, winning that thing was really important to him. It was like he wrapped up his whole sense of being in winning survivor.

Yeah, the final vote-count was odd. Even Nat didn't react like she was hearing this for the first time, and I did think Russell's demenaor was "off" during the reading. It seemed as if they already knew.

Heroes vs. Villains was filmed right-after Samoa and is already "in the can" it probably just needs to be edited and stuff. BTW, Hatch was given the chance to come back (again) for H.v.V. but the parole board wouldn't let him leave the country to do it.

Ah, that probably means (based upon his reactions) that Russell didn't win Heroes vs. Villains. He just seemed a little too unhappy during the reunion show. I could be wrong, though.

He did win $200,000 this season, so it definitely wasn't a total loss for him.

I'm no so sure. HvV has been wrapped for a few months now, seems like a long time for him still be bitter about not making it through. I'm thinking he either already knew the result -from a pre-broadcast event- or he just telegraphed it from watching the final episode.

Fucking bullshit, most disappointing winner of Survivor ever. There have been some real steals in the past but this is the absolute worst. I was hoping that the jury wouldn't be so stupid but with people like Laura, Kelly, and Eric on it, obviously that wasn't going to happen. Especially Laura and Kelly, who were so cliqueish and self-righteous that they just couldn't stand the idea of letting someone who actually played a better game than them win. Instead of thinking about who deserved to be the winner and voting for that person, they voted out of spite, bitterness, and arrogance. It really angers me that they could be so fucking retarded.

Russell got robbed. I hope he wins HvV just to prove them wrong.

My Tivo cut off just as they went to commercial after they talked to Good Russell about his near death. What happened after, and is there a place online to see the rest of the live reunion show?

I'm with you.

Totally Pissed Off right now.

Russell did some things that he really didn't need to do, but he played the hardest of all of them. He was in the crosshairs so much and week after week he dodged it. Then when he had to win immunity (the last one) he pulled it off. I felt what he said at the final tribal council was excellent.

I'm not one to stop watching a show I've enjoyed because of one thing I didn't like, but this is making me think about Survivor. That was an awesome preview for the Heroes vs Villians so I don't think I be that drastic and not watch.

Obviously, Russell forgot one of the cardinal survivor rules: never let a good-looking female make it to the final vote.

Natalie is useless. The everybody votes for the winner thing at the end is the least appealing part about the show. Time and time again you see that people vote for who they want for whatever reason they feel like. It's totally a crapshoot who's on the jury. Sometimes you get the people who respect how someone played, sometimes you get people who just want to vote for the person they like, or at least against the person they didn't like. Sometimes you get the stupid people who vote based on who needs the money the most. It's just all manners of crazy. You know it's bad when Shambo seems to be the sanest one of the bunch when it comes to voting for a winner.

Natalie is just the kind of person I hate. Thinks Jesus is guiding her hand to win random rope tug coconut reward challenges. It's ridiculous. Anyone who thinks that there's a God, and that they're actually great enough for God to intervene on their behalf in something that's ultimately trivial just bugs the shit out of me. Talk about supreme arrogance.

If it's not for Russell, none of those idiots would've had a sniff of the final three. It's just that simple. It's also ludicrous to vote against Russell for not playing the nice person game. The nice person game isn't really available to him. He can't compete in that category against a big titted blonde in a bikini. As a stubby not particularly attractive fellow his charm can only take him so far. Does anyone actually think he could've gotten anywhere by latching on to some schemer and just played the nice innocent guy? It's retarded. And even her career is bullshit, Pharmaceutical Sales? Have you ever met these people? They basically push their bullshit drugs whether they're good or not to anyone who will listen. These people tend to be sleazy hoes who use their sex appeal to sell. It's like an infinitesimally more classy "Red Bull Girl". The bubbly idiot who gives you a free sample of an energy drink, flashes you a fake smile, and thinks you'll start buying their product just because she gave you a good look at her tits.

I didn't like Jaison at all. He rode coattails as well and pretty much mentally checked out early in the process. I'll give him this though, his jury question was actually fair. He pointed out that all those people are well off, and not to be suckered. Eric's speech was horrifying in its naivety. What's worse is that Russell didn't even get a chance to respond to that nonsense. Her strategy was basically to do what Russell says and hope for the best. Why punish Russell because he NEEDS to have useful idiots to make it to the end.

Jeff is funny. I feel bad for Russell as it's Jeff's job to egg him on, and knock him down a peg. Jeff is really good at it though.

But man, what a crap filled way to finish off a shit weekend (don't ask!).

So, next seasons Survivor is titled Heroes Vs Villains and instead of the standard "Outwit, Outplay, Outlast" on the logo it will have "Return, Revenge, Redemption"...

Interesting.

This whole episode was intense, I thought Russel was actually going to do the right thing:)

Which would be what? Cutting his own wrists?

What a bitter jury, maybe the most bitter of all time? I can't believe Russell only got two votes, although I think Natalie is a deserving winner too.

And  at Mick at final tribal, good for him his patients are usually unconscious. ;)

I'd argue that Mick, prestigous fellowship or not, isn't "well-off" being deep in dept from student loans.

But, Jesus, this winner is complete bullshit. I was arguing with my SiL about it and it's just like "What did Natalie do?!" My sis' wanted to argue that "riding coattails" is a strategy too.

Whatever. Russell played this game harder and better than anyone else in the past has before, were it not for him Natalie would've been axed long ago as she did NOTHING to save herself other than hitch herself to Russell's star and above poster above but it best when they said it's bad when Shambo was the most logical-thinking person a group.

What a bunch of assholes. Survivor isn't a social game, Natalie may have cock-warmed everyone on the island but Russell played it.

This is like, "Gee, Russell, you've got the most properties and the most money in this game of Monopoly, but we're going to let Natalie win because she was less of an asshole."

Bull. Shit.

Natalie did NOT Outwit and she did NOT Outplay and other than happening to be on Russell's tribe she did NOT Outlast. She did nothing to keep herself in the game, Russell needed her for his plan to work, if she were on the other tribe he would've gotten rid of her fine-ass a long time ago.

Look at what just went up tonight... A new website:

http://www.russellgotscrewed.com/

It seems to have been put up by Russell to raise money for St. Judes Hospital. That is a good cause but in reading his comments I can't but think - "Get over it."

Yes Russell deserved to win based on the edited version of Survivor we saw. Those that lived it for real 24/7 saw it differently. I'd like to think there was reason for that which never came across to viewers.

I'm not that excited about Heros vs. Villains, though I am curious who gets on it (PLEASE no Boston Rob!!)

So what characters do you think will be on HV's? Off the top of my head, here is partial list of those I would include:

Heros -
Tom the firefighter
Rupert
Yau-Man
Cirie
Big Tom (pig farmer)
Ethan
Tina Wesson
James Clement (gravedigger)

Villains -
Russell
Coach
Johnny Fairplay
Rob Cesternino
boston rob (hate it again, but how can they ignore him)
Brian Heidik

and found this site that has a list of the rumored players:

^ I don't consider Coach a hero or a villain, just a delusional insane person.

This was such a crappy ending to one of the best seasons of Survivor in a long time.

^Especially since he was promoting the website last night just after the reunion show in his interviews. I wonder how/why they knew about it before hand, because I don't think that happens every season. I have seen some people be truly shocked by the outcome in the past.
