SURVIVOR NICARAGUA Running thread, commentary, etc. (Spoilers)

Sash has slimed his way in to contention, pretty remarkable considering how many people he's screwed over.

Not really...they have consistently rewarded bad behavior this season. Everybody wants to end up in the finals with whoever seems closest to satan-incarnate (except Jane...who can't go a day without believing herself part of some white knight crusade).

Pretty ambivalent about Benry. He never got much of a personality.

Agree about Sash, slimy is a perfect word for how he comes off. Since he's still got his idol, I can see him making the endgame. At this point it's pretty unpredictable - the only lock for the final three is Dan, because he doesn't stand a chance of getting a vote from anyone.

At this point, my money to take the whole thing is on Holly. It's just a gut feeling, but with the way she's been portrayed the last few weeks, she's easily one of the smartest people left out there, strong, friendly, and has a good underdog story.

It's frustrating watching these players. It seems like they spend more time whining and planning petty revenge than on figuring out strategies to keep them in the game.

Yeah I agree. It's also kind of sad how much help Jeff has to give them at tribal council and in challenges. I get the sense that the reason Jeff has been so much more vocal and intrusive this season is that he is trying to milk some critical thinking out of these people who seem to lack any on their own. These people can't stick to a game plan for more than 2 days and they certainly aren't very good at lying, as we saw last night when they all gave Jane guilty stares as she asked them what the plan was. They just don't seem as driven or strategic as players in other seasons have.

I don't understand why Sash or Chase didn't give a hidden immunity idol to Holly after the vote (when Jeff asked for the idols). Did I miss something, or is it just another indication that everybody is thinking only one tribal council at a time?

Such a shame - I really was pulling for Fabio since Marty left, but I'll bet he's the next one voted out if he doesn't win immunity again.

I've completely forgotten the Tribal Council rules - what would have happened last night if 3 had voted for Holly and 3 had voted for Jane?

If Sash or Chase or even Holly win, I'll be a saaaaaad panda.

I agree - last night was painful to watch. In part because I didn't want to see Jane go, but mostly just because everyone else is so freaking dumb. Grah.

I don't understand why anybody likes Jane. She's a freaking psycho, and I would stay at least 20 feet away from her at all times.

Jane was the last one I was really rooting for. Her out-lasting everyone including the young strong guys in the IC a couple weeks ago was just awesome. Now, out of spite, I want the guido guy who has done positively nothing the entire season to win.

Yeah, I was completely baffled by the voting. Jane urges Fabio and Dan to vote against Holly--but then votes for Sash, who she knows has the immunity idol? WTF?

And Jeff practically orders Fabio and Dan to form an alliance with Jane to save their skins, but they vote Jane out anyway?

The idea of them getting together with Jane would have worked a couple of weeks ago I think, but at this point they want Jane gone just as much as the other 3. No one wanted to be against her in the final 3, and she has proven that she is good at some challenges and could easily have gone all the way if they kept her in after this week, so I think it was a good move to get rid of her.

well i heard a rumor that Jane told Jeff at tribal that Sash had made her a deal that he would pay her mortgage if she voted for him at the finals and influenced the jury to vote for him. This is breaking Survivor rule so Jeff stopped camera and talked to the producers but at the end they decided it was he said,, she said thing. This was all editied out but this is reason why Jane voted for Sash. Just to clearified. It is a rumor that i saw on Survivor fan site. But if it is true then Sash just lost some jury votes trying to bribe Jane. Anyway i am happy she is out.

Good for Fabio! It's nice to see a good kid like that win all the marbles, and he gamed hard to do it with those 3 immunity wins in a row.

The Redemption Island angle coming this February sounds interesting, looking forward to that.

While it sounds like something Sash would do, I don't put much faith in the rumor. Everything they do is on camera, even when they sleep. If it really did happen, the production crew would have known about it (and informed Jeff) before Tribal. And Sash didn't get a single vote in the finale.

I keep hearing rumors about this one, and they were somewhat kinda sorta confirmed last night during the reunion.

Rumor 1 - The show, Redemption Island, is bringing back Boston Rob vs. Russell. Again. Boston Rob will be the leader of one tribe. Russell will be the leader of the other tribe. The rest are all new people. And it's supposedly all about redeeming those two villains.

Rumor 2 - That season, which is already filmed, is Probst's last as host. They're currently searching for a new host for season 23. The last time he wanted to leave, they threw a bunch of money his way and made him one of the producers. He is staying through his contract and doesn't want to come back. One of the sub-rumors here is that they're interviewing past contestants such as Rupert and Colby to find their new host.

There are not enough rolleyes smilies on the entire fucking internet for me to reply appropriately to those spoiler-rumours, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's true.

^ Agreed. All of that sounds terrible.

Glad to see Fabio win. Not really much else to say about the finale...it was pretty straightforward. A little annoyed that 5 contestants got ignored during the reunion show...I like when Jeff gives everybody a chance to say something at least. Instead he kept jetting off to the audience to talk with Boston Rob or that football guy.

Edit: Interesting though that Fabio won 5-4, but two of his votes were from Purple Kelly and NaOnka, and most people were angry they got to sit on the jury and vote at all. If they hadn't, then Chase would have won 4-3. Hmm...

I was happy that Fabio won with the choices that were left, but what the heck was his speech in the reunion show about?? "What are you going to do with the money?" "Man it's about connecting the dots, making music around the world, like a corporation 55% ownership dude, you know?" Yikes.

Next season sounds like fun.

Fabio is either totally nuts or a genius, I don't know, or he simply has access to excellent weed. :D
ew

Honestly, I have no clue what you were talking about at the reunion show. From color wheels, to human creative powers, to the government, to 55 percent or something. Were you just having an out of body experience right there?
It’s so easy for me to slip into that kind of talk, but I’m very progressive minded. I’m thinking about the future and globalization — basically communication of the mass media and world art culture. I just think science and art and religion are all kind of forming together.

Are they making an alliance?
Yeah! We’re gonna connect all the dots and make a human alliance to save mother Earth.

Yeah, I like the idea of a Redemption Isle (could make for some interesting strategy on who you vote off), but if those rumors in the spoiler are true, that'll ruin things for me.

Glad Fabio won. I was kind of surprised Sash didn't get any votes. Sure, he was a slimeball, but he was one of the few this season that actually had a strategy (even though he rarely followed through).
