Survivor Gabon - Commenatry Thread

They should give Randy a bronzed dildo to honor him as the biggest dick on Survivor.

EDITED TO ADD: I feel bad about posting this now. I'm seriously thinking that he's suffering some sort of mental/emotional disorder. See my comments below.

I was staring at the TV in disbelief when Jeff pulled out 3 votes for Susie. Had she won, it might have been enough for me to quit watching this show.

Just want to say, Sugar looks fantastic in the reunion poriton of tonight's show. She really does have a classic pin-up model look to her.

Yeah, I would've been pretty pissed too is Susie won.

Good for Bob, he seems like a good guy and one of the more decent winners of Survivor.

Randy is a douchebag. Still all stuffy and pissy about his stupid cookie.

Die, Randy.

Jeez,

Corrine is such a bitch. I have to say, she cleans up nicely but good Lord, what a hateful bitch. Her and Randy are birds of a feather, both A-1 Jackasses.

Yeah she is a, bit, but she's got a more personality as a bitch than Randy as a douche.

She's like some Long Island hair-dresser type. Where she's just a snobby, stuck, up bitch.

Randy is just shy of doning a KKK uniform.

I mean, what 40/50-something old man gets a friggin' mohawk?!

After seeing Randy's bit on the reunion show, I guess my opinion softened a bit. He almost strikes me as someone who might have a personality disorder or something. He just came off more as an oddball than a jackass.

Yeah, I was just kind of thinking the same thing. I don't know if it's a personality disorder thing or if he's just playing "a part."

He came across kind of like a likable jackass, and kind of sad -if he honesly has no human friends. His giving his seats to fans of the show was kind of cool of him.

I just was looking at him sitting there during the reunion show, eyes looking slightly downward, face totally blank. It just strikes me as something is just not quite right with him.

Congrats, Bob! For once, the person I felt really deserved it, won. And then to win the extra 100k - has the most popular player ever been the actual winner, too?

I didn't really like this season - too many useless people, esp. Randy; whether his problems are personal or medical, he gets no respect from me. And as hot as Corinne was, her performance in the jury was just despicable - Sugar didn't deserve that kind of crap. These people were really trying to play their 15 minutes to the hilt, and making themselves look like complete a**holes in the process - I guess they just don't care what people think of them.

I still can't believe Bob's performance - whether he tried to stay under the radar or not, his winning all of those challenges was heroic. The right person definitely won this one.

I was glad Bob won too. But I have to say, the way he made to the final 3 seemed kind of contrived to me. It was one of those things that happens every now and then that makes me wonder if this show is legit or not.

Sugar screwed herself; imo she was clearly the most powerful player this season, especially after the merge, but she used her power extremely ineffectively, which ended up biting her in the ass. I'm pretty sure that the votes for Susie were votes that "belonged" to Sugar but went to Susie because Sugar pissed them off in the end.

I like Bob and he deserves it, but the bottom line is, that Bob won the game only thanks to the douchebag-bloc, which in my mind sort of puts a question mark on the whole season.

I think the show was kinda rigged for Bob--what with no endurance challenge at the end. Most of the last challenges were mental, or physical but mental would determine winner.

I agree with Bob about Kenny.

Susie didn't do a damn thing to win. "No one will tell me who to vote for. I don't know what to do." Outplay and outlast, yeah. Outwit? Not a chance.

Sugar's answers were...well stupid but totally honest. She was one of the few finalists ever who did not suck up to get votes.

And the jury? As usual, most are fucking idiots who think that THEY never lied, THEY never screwed anyone over, THEY should've won. Keep deluding yourselves, people.

Randy? Can I feel bad for the guy? Should I? He used to do all this stuff, but doesn't anymore? What happened?

Corrine? Out-bitches Jerri. God, I thought I was too blunt--she makes me sound meek.

Corinne is the bitch of all bitches...and seems to enjoy it. I thought it was funny when she commented that she "couldn't understand" how Bob survives in the real world because he is so nice. The idea that someone could actually be nice and that people would react positively to that seems to baffle her. Like she believes that being a raging bitch is the only way to get what you want out of life...well it obviously didn't get her anywhere, because she didn't win and lost all sign of respect.

Sugar was a breath of fresh air in this game because of what I described in my earlier post about her. She did not play the game rationally, with the sole intent of winning. She played emotionally, making decisions based on who she thought deserved things more. Players have always talked about that stuff in the past, but in the end they go with what gets themselves further in the game. She actually went with her feelings, throwing everyone off and yes, losing her the money, but I get the sense that she wouldn't go back and change what she did to win anyway. She seems happy with the fact that she followed her heart.

Overall it was an interesting cast this year...they definitely got some people who were genuinely unique personalities. You don't meet people like Sugar or Randy every day. Or Corinne or Bob or Kenny. They were all just so different from the people you normally see.

This last episode kind of soured this season for me. In other years, you would actually get questions based on integrity and having people actually see who played the better game. I didn't see any of that last night. I saw a group of sore losers or bitches just have their 15 minutes of fame and it just didn't feel like a good conclusion. I'm all for Bob winning, but for Sugar to get no votes simply because "no one liked her" seemed just wrong. Corrine's comments showed me what kind of person she was and just justified it in the reunion show. Randy just seems like a total loser who does have issues. I was really surprised by Charlie's comments too. He is a nice guy, and going up with Randy and Corrine because they were entertaining just seemed really odd to me.

Also, Sugar probably didn't deserve any votes after some of her responses. What was that? It's almost as if she never planned to win the money and just played a who deserved it more game. Did it ever occur to her that she out of all 5 was the most deserving. Maybe she knew she was disliked mightily among the jury and that's why she pretty much gave up but for her to play the game she did and not get any votes just seemed wrong.

Overall, this isn't my favorite season of survivor but I liked it. I liked Fans Vs. Favs more because there was strategy involved and how one played the game was at the forefront, even though the person who actually did win was a questionable choice. Hopefully Brazil is a good season. Glad they are going back to South America, even though I really wish they would do Survivor in the cold and snow. That would be an interesting season.

She definately lied to Kenny and wasn't even smart about it - the reason she voted him off was that she thought he's one of the "bad" people because of the thing with Bob in the previous episode, there was nothing strategic about it; and although I can't point it out directly right now, I had the impression about her being dishonest several other times too during the final tribal.

Yeah, I agree that the final tribal council sucked. The questions really weren't that great or insightful. And the answers really weren't that good either.

And what was up with there being no endurance challenge at the end? I'm kind of glad there wasn't because it meant Bob could win more easily (though he didn't win the challenge they did have so it probably wouldn't have made a difference). But it seemed a little weird that they didn't have an endurance.
