Survivor 36: Ghost Island discussion thread

It's going to be tough to hide that immunity necklace that's been rebranded as an idol.

I like the idea of the winners getting to choose who among the losers gets a potential advantage, but nobody's really used them yet. Might be fun later in the show when all the advantages start to get played at the same time.

Haven't seen the episode yet but won't comment but need a sanity check.

That new investigation reality show on Scifi channel. That's Derrick from Big Brother, right?

Okay, I won't mention who was voted out, but that person is the first member of the jury. I'll try to find the Ponderosa video and post it tomorrow (hope that's enough time for you to see the episode?).

I wouldn't know about the show you mentioned, since that channel isn't available here.

I can't keep track of all the idols and advantages in the game right now. There's like three different idols, an extra vote advantage, what else?

"Male model"

Man it was good to see Chris get blindsided with an idol in his pocket on a season about the mistakes of past tribe members. The guy literally thought he was a golden god, always nice to see people like that taken down a peg.

Dom had better not get cocky or he'll be the next one to go. The women are slowly taking over the game behind the scenes.

Chris' idol is now out of the game, as well as the legacy advantage. I believe that leaves Dom with an idol, Wendell with an idol, and Kellyn with an extra vote. I think that's it, but I could be wrong!
Unfortunately a lot of the people that I liked this season were voted off early, basically the whole Malolo tribe, like Stephanie Johnson and James Lim. However, there are still people that I like. In particular I like the pair of Laurel and Donathan. I like Michael too.

To confirm, yes that IS Derrick, on the Science channel show Breaking Homocide, a show about investigating old unsolved murders.

I'm not sure who the favorite to win is in Survivor now. I think Domenick, Wendell and Michael stay targets and can't escape that. I think if the jury is bitter Donathan has a shot because he's the most inoffensive person in the world. Laurel, Kellyn, Jenna and Angela all seem pretty smart, but I might eliminate Angela just because she can't . I guess original Naviti has an advantage but when we start to run out of original Malolos that's going to collapse in a hurry.

It's almost impossible to predict winner now, it'll be one of those seasons where one person steps up and makes the best moves in the last few weeks and they win.

It's really bad that the only person whose name and face I can match is Desiree. The rest of them just blend together in a boring mess.

How old is Kellyn? I've been wondering if she was named after that character on Star Trek Voyager who fell in love with Chakotay but he couldn't remember her.

So at this point it seems like the 'Dominick wins' train. It's one of those seasons where it just really really seems like a specific player is going to win, like when Tyson, or Rob, or Cochrane won. And he just happens to be the only player who is both 1) Playing the game and 2) Not a complete moron.

I'm hoping that some other player steps up and finds a way in, but it seems like if anyone was going to do anything they would have in the last two or three episodes. If Dom and Wendell didn't both have idols, maybe they could do something at 6.

It seems like the only hope is if Donathon does something, but he seems really good at talking and really bad at acting.

I have a vague idea of which of them is Dominick. It's really bad when the finale is next week and I still can't match names and faces for most of them. This has been a very boring season, from my pov.

This latest episode was especially frustrating. What is Laurel thinking? She didn't want to take out Wendell because he "should" have won in the last challenge. BS. He didn't call Jeff over to check his puzzle, end of story. That doesn't mean Laurel should give up her chances of winning the game because of it. Really, I think that Laurel was looking for any excuse not to backstab Wendell/Dominic, either because she's afraid or she's too nice and doesn't want to offend them.

Although I do think either Dominic or Wendell will win, it's not clear cut to me yet which one it will be. They have both played well, both have idols (AND fake idols), but are liked and respected by others. Dominic's edge is that he has seemed more in control and like the brains of the operation, but will other people see that? They might choose Wendell over Dom because Wendell has the stronger personal relationships. Not everyone loved Dom, but no one seems to have had a bad thing to say about Wendell. From the perspective of the jury, I could definitely see them choosing Wendell because of the personal connections, and failing to fully recognize what Dom brought to the table.

Well, this was a different kind of final tribal council. I think it turned out the right way.

Oh, and Big Brother starts next month. Are there any cast lists up yet?

I'm happy how the final vote turned out, I think Dom and Wendell had equal claim to being the strategic mastermind and the tiebreaker ended up being Wendell's social game.

Anyone else think Wendell's hair in the finale made him look a little like Donald Glover?
