Anyone else see the hilarity in Cass advising Jeffra that it was a mistake to vote someone out just because they were annoyed by them?

To be fair to Cass (it makes me feel dirty to just type those words!) in her mind, she voted Sarah out because the way her alliance treated Sarah v. the way they treated her made her think that her alliance had put her on the bottom, and she thought she'd improve her position by switching alliances. Now in reality, Cass clearly voted out Sarah because she was annoyed with her, which was incredibly stupid, ruined her chances of winning, and made the above statement absolutely ridiculous

Tony is a fucking d-bag. You know back in real life he's one of those loser paranoid cops that thinks everyone is out to get him ie the worst kind of cop there is.

You have to be a bit slimy to win Survivor, but there's a fine line and he's crossed it completely, so I don't see him winning.

Sucks for Spencer on that 50/50 immunity gamble. I'm rooting for the guy though.

Woo is a mimbo.

I dunno, if Cass plays her cards right an wins a few immunities she has a chance.

She's weak in physical and mental challenges (brainiac was trying to spell "fighting" with a "Y" and is always one of the first ones out in endurance challenges), she's got no social game, she's impulsive and has zero strategy, she's near the bottom of her alliance, and she's disliked by most of the people on and likely to be on the jury. Spencer was right, she's got no chance.

She has no chance of winning if she goes up against Tony, Tasha or Spencer. Of those already on the jury, she has no chance of getting either Sarah or Morgan's vote. Maybe she get's LJ's vote against Tony if he's still bitter and possibly she gets Jeremiah's vote if she's up against Woo, Trish or Jefra (but if she's up against either of those three, she'd also be losing Spencer's, Tasha's, Tony's and Woo's).

I honestly can't see any scenario where she'd get more than two jury votes some how.

Tony doesn't strike me as someone who's slimy in real life. Just in the game of Survivor he makes big moves for the sake of big moves.

I mean, if Tony loses in the finale, I wouldn't expect to see him holding back tears and rage then saying the game is flawed.

I'm trying to think of who Kass could win against in the final. If it were a final two against Jefra, she could totally win.

On a related note, I'm absolutely convinced that Kass and Jefra will constitute two of the final three, and the third seat will be the winner. I think Trish's game is hugely underrated, as while Tony has been out there making the big moves, she's been securing majorities. She secured Kass and this week she secured Jefra. Just, the only way Trish wins is if she is proactive enough to blindside Tony.

Who wouldn't be salivating at the prospect of sitting next to Jefra and Kass in the final three?

I love the Special Idol! It does just what I hoped it would do, and I hope it carries over to future games. What a potential game changing bombshell it could be. True, this season has had many bombshell moments without it, but I look forward to it blowing up best laid plans in the future.

All that said, I do wish someone else was currently in possession of it. Oh well, gotta take the bad with the good.

It did seem a little odd, him finding it the way it went down. First he 'felt something' under the root, then he did some digging in the open area beside the root, then he just suddenly has it without our seeing it come out of the ground. My guess is he found it when no cameraman was around and they forced him to 'recreate' that moment.

I don't like the Special Idol- as others have said, it gives the owner way too much power. No need to strategize about when to play the idol, just wait until you see your name pop up too many times. It's almost a free ticket to the finale.

I think I would like the special idol more if its powers were less secret. Since it's secret it seems like one of those Big Brother twists like "Surprise! I get to steal your HoH because the audience hates me the least."

It's not a free ticket to the finale though, if you're not in the majority all it does is save you one week.

I do like the way Tony was fingering the idol visibly while Spencer was playing his because he was scared he was going to play it on Jeremiah.

I think Garret will be fine. They just used J'tia to get rid of Garret. She will be gone the next opportunity they have. I'm glad she is going to be around for a little bit though to live with the consequences of her rice trick.

Over all it's a good season.:)

Cass comes across as a total weirdo. She might be a serial killer. Just a hunch. I wouldn't touch a meal prepared by her is all I'm saying. And no there is pretty much no way she can win.

In the Amazing Race did anyone else find themselves actually taking Brendan & Rachel's side yesterday?

"We don't like them, because they're not like us!"

Really Dave, Connor, Caroline & Jennifer? You have actual good reasons to dislike them, because of their attitude, and you take the opportunity to say on national television that you don't like to associate with people who 'Aren't like you'? I was rooting for Dave & Connor but after a comment like that it makes me question their character. If they had just said "We don't like Brendan & Rachel because they're jerks" it would be fine. That whole thing made them seem like judgmental snobs.

Huh? Well uhh, I still haven't gotten around to last season's Amazing Race premiere let alone anything from this season. I'm on the fence as to whether I ever will or if I'm just tired and done with the show. Anyway, I don't think the Survivor thread is the place to discuss The Amazing Race, though I'm not sure that TAR would sustain its own thread around here at this point.

I put it here because I figured it didn't need its own thread and I figure Survivor and Amazing Race have a large co-fanbase as the only two non-music reality game shows you can watch without feeling trashy.

(shrug) Respond to it or don't.

I took it to mean that Brendan & Rachel are inconsiderate, unsportsmanlike, and rude - unlike those in the "Accidental Alliance."

As for this not being the place for TAR... I'd gladly post in such a thread if anyone wants to make one. But keep in mind that there have been quite a number of people who have appeared in two or three different CBS reality shows.

Perhaps a moderator might consider splitting this into a new thread?

At the risk of continuing off topic, I whole heartedly agree that it made me feel very uncomfortable to not only hear Jen and Caroline say "not like us" but for them to have an acronym for it. It really makes me wonder...

That being said, 1) I don't attribute that comment to Dave and Connor in any way, as it was clear the only thing that turned them off to the Brenchel's was the U-Turn and their general unwillingness to cooperate and 2) I do think that in that context, Jen and Caroline clearly meant "mean and inconsiderate" just because I can't imagine in what other they could have meant it, and it did seem to be the reason that everyone was upset with Brendon and Racheal

I have a question about the food/advantage auction. One of the contestants didn't bid on anything. Does she get to keep the $500 or does she have to give it back?

As far as I understand it, they keep what they don't spend. People are just perpetually undervaluing food and game advantages in the context of a million dollar contest. Tasha's "oh I was saving in case there was a clue" was bullshit, she gave up on her good strategy because she caved watching everyone else eat.

Anyway with Tony in meltdown mode but with 2x immunity, this end run of episodes has shaped up as perfect televesion. Really Tony and Spencer are the only ones whose games I respect, so hopefully one of them wins. Tony makes a lot of mistakes, but they're mostly rooted in his inability to read people. At least he's proactive.

Also, it's amazing that Cass can annoy the fuck out of me even when she's essentially endorsing my thoughts on Spencer playing that idol for himself instead of LJ. A college age male isn't the most selfish creature. If nothing else, clearly a human baby/toddler of any gender is far more selfish.
