I'm happy the finale is going to be on Wednesday, because otherwise it would have conflicted with Cosmos, and I've got no way to record programs.
Tony wanted Trish gone, so why would he give her the idol?
I'm not entirely sure what his thinking is, but I guess he thought other than Spencer, Trish is the only one who could give him trouble at the final tribal (and it appears we have a very bitter jury once again btw) and that Spencer is the next to go if he can't win immunity one more time. It's a risk, but pretty much everything is a risk in Survivor.
And that middle finger from Kass was one of the stupidest things anyone's done in a tribal council, and evidence that she really is an emotional player and not the calculating person she styles herself as.
I think Tony figured that Trish was a guaranteed vote for him on the jury no matter what (and she never actually saw that he voted for her), and that (other than Spencer) she was the only person that might have a chance to rival him in jury votes, since she has made some moves and convinced people to switch sides, and like she said, she hadn't fought with anyone on the jury.
Woo is likeable personality wise, but I think everyone on the jury realizes he's a blank slate with no real game plan of his own. I mean, Spencer asked him if if he had any thoughts, and he said "I do. What do you think?" Which about sums up Woo in a nutshell. He's Jeff Spiccoli.
If Kass has anything resembling a strategy at all, and isn't just a reactionary nutjob with zero social skills or charisma, I think it might be that she realized she has no chance of winning and is now just playing for the third place "Take me along to the end as the terrible person no one will vote for" spot. Either that, or she's looking to get invited back on a future Heroes vs. Villains installment as a villain. Then again, her complete lack of self-awareness (and thanks to Trish for calling out publicly what we've all been saying) might just mean that she thinks she has a chance against Tony. That flip-off and the "psycho bitch" comment were some of the worst and most pointless viciousness and poor sportsmanship I've ever seen on the show. The jury was completely repulsed by the flip-off, especially after Trish had just left with dignity and wished everyone well. Kass is one of the worst players in the history of the game.
The puzzle during the immunity challenge was a precise demonstration of the difference between Tony and Spencer's gameplay. Tony makes a lot of fast and often unthinking moves hoping for the best, while Spencer sits back cold and calculating and then acts with purpose. I think Spencer is kind of a spoiled ass, but I have to give him credit on playing a great game and continually staying in it against long odds.

I wonder if Spencer practiced the slide puzzle before going in. It seems to come up in every season. Not that I would go on Survivor, but if I did, there would be a lot of challenge tape study. It's for the most part the same crap in various permutations. The slide puzzle is just easy enough that I never memorize the technique.
I missed them showing who voted for who in the final votes. Did Tony vote for Trish? If so that was a piss poor edit job because they showed nothing that indicated Tony was even considering doing something like that
I honestely think Kass' entire game plan is "do whatever's necessary to get to the end, then work her awesome invincible lawyer magic to sway the jury", while forgetting that the jury she might be facing next week is not impartial as the juries she normally sees in the court room.
Tony did vote for Trish, I usually go to the wikipedia page for Survivor to check who voted for whom if it's not clear after the episode.
In fact Tony has voted for the person who was eliminated in every single tribal council he has participated in, which is an impressive feat. And if he makes it to the end, most likely that streak will continue.
I kinda feel ripped off not learning how that came about? Did Woo straight up tell Tony that was how it was going down? Did Tony think to do it himself? I feel like it's a major plot point that was never addressed.
Yeah, I agree that's poor editing if Tony voted for Trish. Tony explicitly said he was going to blindside Woo at the beginning.
It's also just kind of dumb if Tony voted for Trish, since I can imagine Woo getting more jury votes than Trish.
I don't think a guy like Spencer would have to practice the slide puzzle, nerds like us have it down to a science when we're six years old.

I don't think a single moment has made me happier in Survivor since Lillian wrote down Jon.

After some quick google searches, Survivor 29 and 30 are supposed to be with all newbies. Good to see them listening to fans.
So, if Survivor 29 is a Blood vs Water with newbies instead of veterans, I find that interesting so long as it doesn't include Redemption Island.

Man, the jury was tough. I expected them to be bitter, but that was a bit much. Spencer was Tony's MVP there imo.

Pretty solid end to a very good season, yeah, Spencer with a big save, I kinda wonder what would have happened if he didn't do that. I'm glad Kass didn't make the finals... It wouldn't have been worth the risk of her actually having a chance to win! It's always hard to say, the jury of course said unanimously that they would have voted for Woo in that case but that's with a year of hindsight, and without the benefit of the "Woo is his master's dog" speeches in the final tribal. Not that Spencer would have made that speech for Kass's benefit.
I'm always a bit hypocritical on the new vs old players things. Let's face it, hearing of a few old favorites coming back is always kind of exciting. But it's true that the game suffers for it more often than not, so I'm looking forward to some fresh casting. Hopefully they don't suck. We have had some sucky seasons without returning players ya know. It's a bit of a crapshoot.

I like the seasons with no returning players and the ones with all returning players, but I don't like the ones with just a few returning players, because then they start with an unfair advantage.
