The title of this thread sounds like a new reality show.

Well, I imagine a thing that can eat grain must have some kind of way to grind it up for digestion, or very strong digestive fluids. Maybe they eat things like a fly and spit the acid. Either way, death by tribble seems a very unpleasant end. Maybe the Denebians can add that to their list of penalties for fraud.

Maybe they have a "crop" or a "gizzard" akin to birds. Hard nodules along their esophagus that allow them to grind pellet or seed sized morsels they basically inject whole.

True, we saw the tribble atop Kirk's chicken sandwich, but we can't be sure it could eat it effectively. I'm sure it would have made a valiant effort. regardless. It might have likely "gummed" the bread easily enough. The chicken? Well, if it were a "patty", the critter probably found itself a "challenge". Chicken salad? Nibble, nibble, nibble...12 hours later, plop! Pups.
