Surface

Starbreaker

Fleet Admiral

Surface is on Hulu and I started watching the pilot today. If I end up sticking with it, how pissed off am I going to be at the cliffhanger, and is there any resolution from the show's creator?

It's a Twilight Zoney - or perhaps more relevant now - BSG-ey ending, which is more than the other two big SF shows that year got.

I'm guessing that's Invasion and Threshold? I didn't watch any of them because I was afraid of abrupt cancellations...

Yeah. Threshold just got canned and Invasion, as I've read, ends on a cliffhanger.
Threshold at least had sort of a general hint of what's to come (things would get much worse). Invasion just ended on a cliffhanger.

are we talking about the same show? I didn't see invasion but I saw surface and surface ended in a cliffhanger.

Yeah, but it was the BUM BUM BUM type of cliffhanger. Like the end of Soylent Green or something similar.

I wouldn't mind a continuation of the show, I was starting to really like it. Couldn't stand the kid though.

The series started to have an odd feeling after the protagonists came back to the surface (after discovering the creatures lair). Before that the series was very good, but after that, it felt poor.

I remember during the discussion threads we were saying the show was like every Spielberg movie wrapped into one. But still it was a lot of fun. The other two shows didn't interest me at all.

I agree, it was certainly different. Almost like they had to scramble to bring the show back together. That diving bell sequence seemed to go on for 2 years.

SURFACE wasn't that great as first but continually improved as the season went on, and ended on a very interesting note. I was extremely disappointed it didn't get renewed.

Yes, but it wasn't an iguana it was a, uh, I forget what they were exactly! :p

It was called nimrod. The show is also famous for Lake Bell having impressive boobs and the teenager sister, showing up in every early ep, wearing either a bikini or schoolgirl outfit.
