Surely something good happened to you today

I volunteered at our church booth in the park today. My first time. The weather was really great not too hot. A lady at our church had made and was selling items to support our church. And one of the items were these really cute cell phone purses. They had teddy bears on it. And for helping she gave it to me for free! Though I did buy some things form her. But I really liked the teddy bear but just didn't have the money to spend for it. So that was cool. And a person selling pieces of pie were giving some away and I got a piece of pie. So what a nice day!!

I forgot to mention this...

My wife got us a trial membership of Amazon Audible specifically to listen to one thing... A STITCH IN TIME, read by Andrew J. Robinson.

I told my wife about how great the book was. (Back when I used to buy and read ALL of the STAR TREK novels... I probably have around 300 of them.)

We are both huge fans of Garak, and her memory, combined with her great internet sleuthing skills, found this was getting released on 8/1/23. We have been listening for an hour or two each night since, and we are loving it! (Her because it's the first time through for this, and myself because of hearing Garak, 'new' material, one more time... and watching her experience this great book for the first time.)

It's almost 12 and a half hours long, so we have been savoring it by listening to a bit at a time every night.

Just so awesome!

(I did notice the audio reading cover is VERY different from the cover I remember the book having.)

Not a fan of musicals?
I think I've made a couple of new four legged friends on my bike rides over the last couple days.

Not a fan of musicals?

I have nothing against musicals, as such.

If I hear about a Broadway show that interests me, I'll check it out. Hell, I've seen COME FROM AWAY six times (three in Toronto, three on Broadway). And I've see URINETOWN three times. It's rare, but it does happen.

i'm just not sure how I feel about a Star Trek musical. I'll get around to watching this episode eventually, but it's probably gonna take awhile. Sorry about that. I'm just not used to going outside my comfort zone.

Gas came down a few paltry cents so I quickly filled up before it goes up again. It seems to come down by a few pennies at a time and jumps up by tens at a time.

I just switched my internet service from Frontier to Spectrum and now I'll be paying just over half my former monthly bill. I also switched my auto insurance from Allstate to AAA and I'll pay 40 percent less.

Oh, and I thought my car had a coolant leak but it's fine -- I just overfilled it a bit when I topped up the radiator.
