Surely something good happened to you today

Saw a house today that I can see myself living in. Unfortunately I had to use the listing agent and not mine as he wasn't available. Got another viewing scheduled for tomorrow evening with mine so we can come up with an offer. Has this gorgeous solarium.... Not exactly what I was looking for, and a lot less land, but the flip side is close enough to a town to get cable internet instead of relying on line of sight (I work from home so good, reliable internet is a must, and starlink has a year waitlist. Also, Fuck Musk). Still, the few drawbacks it has are made up by the pluses including like $30-50k of chattels, all of which I would need stop buy anywhere else.

Unfortunately my prescription sunglasses fell out of my pocket during the viewing and I couldn't find them! I told the agent but she didn't see them during other showings....

Maybe I'll see them tomorrow when I look again.

My insurance doesn't renew until end of May 2023 so I may have to go in pocket.

That should work with the sunglasses, I hope.

Good thing today: the mechanic managed to repair my stuck washing machine in record time =)
he also had a close look at its vital functions and recommends bying a new one soon (my machine is 31 years old) as some parts are nearing the end of their respective lifetimes. Unfortunately, my bathroom has only room for a small top-loader and the company that built my good old machine only builds front loaders nowadays which are too big (they'd block the door). I'll see if I can get a good second hand one.

Went to the library today and was lucky to find new books in series that I read. Also, bought the new Jim Butcher novella for Kindle. Well, it was on Kindle Unlimited so I really just borrowed it. So, JACKPOT!!!
Holy crap, I had no idea he was releasing a new novella today. The Dresden Files is one of my favorite book series, although I'm only up to Skin Game, so I've a little ways to go before I reach the new book.

I found my sunglasses on yesterday's walkthrough thansk, but then my reg glasses just snapped in half at the table tonight. 13 months old, flexxon. That's not supposed to happen. Gonna try and get them replaced, even if warranty was only twelve that has to count as a defect. The whole *point* of flexxon is their durability

It's good because had I bought the house it could have literally collapsed on me, among other nearly as serious issues.
Ok. Well, good then.
You mean Strep? Well, yeah, better than Covid, but also very contagious.

A good thing for me today: going to the movies today! :bolian:
Yes, thank you.

I'm less concerned with Strep. I've had it a number of times and am fairly resilient on it.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that I've been stopping to pet some horses on my bike rides in the morning, and I actually caught by one of the horse's owners yesterday, and she said she was OK with me petting her, as long as I don't feed her anything. I'm pretty happy she's OK with it, because she's a really sweet horse, and I was going to be disappointed if I couldn't say pet her anymore. She actually gets excited when she sees me and comes trotting up the fence, it's so cute.
