My city's summer festivals kick off today, which I'm excited about! It's not a huge city, but it's large enough to be a refugee resettlement destination by the government, and this weekend we have Arab Fest. I look forward to using the conversational Arabic I know from having traveled in the Mid East (and studying it a bit in college)!

A lead let me call-in since they messed up the schedule . They had me scheduled on a requested day off. They know I never ask for anything so I got a free pass for their own clerical error. Hmm thanks?
From what I heard, they aren't that nice. You eat their mistakes and show-up, or frantically find a replacement. Not exactly a moral booster but I suppose they have their reasons.

I am going to enjoy my "mental health day off" celebrating my son's birth; later a book and a drink.

Something GREAT happened yesterday. I'm conflicted that it happened on the 1-year anniversary of my dad's death, but out of something terrible is born something wonderful.

I came out as bi at church tonight. It was at a meeting about whether our church should become a "pilot church" in our denomination that allows same-sex marriage and LGBTQ clergy. Everyone was extremely positive and supportive. Except one lady that gave me a dirty look and rolled her eyes, but no one likes her anyway.

Here's hoping we can lead the way for the Methodist Church since our church is pretty large and extremely powerful and influential in our district. I'm heartened by all the pro-LGBTQ old people (including several former pastors) that went to speak during the open mic portion.

good thing today is wobbling on the line between being a problem and something good: I'm experiencing extreme memory probs lately and mentioned this to my GP today. Rather unexpectedly, he takes my problems seriousely for once and ordered an MRI and a neurological expertise to be made.

It'd be nice to extend memory capacity by simply plugging in a second brain. Unfortunately, nature forgot to reserve a slot for it on my motherboard. I'll have a few days off next week and will try to defrag the old HDD by lots of healthy food and sleep. Maybe that helps a bit
