Surely something good happened to you today

I guess I need to find a happy to keep me sane (relative, I know).

I slept in a bed on Friday and Saturday nights for the first time in over a year. Wow, was that nice! I didn't wake up in the middle of the night, but I did still wake up a little earlier both mornings than I wanted to.

YAY!!! My unfriendly colleague has unexpectedly taken this week off. 1 whole week without getting bitched at, without a sour face and without her awfully obtrusive perfume.

Cleaning and gardening? You deserve ALL the toffees!
LOL thanks :) But I rather stick with one (pardon the pun) (and the rhyme) - it'll be at least 6 months till I get to GB the next time and until then there might easily be 2 other occasions that warrant a toffee :)

I used the portable scanner I bought several years ago for the first time today.

Now, if I can only find a picture of Obi so I can use it a second time.

A friend is having a better day. :)

I'm looking forward to socializing IRL this weekend. Very odd thing for me to do.

Still a foggy mess in most of my head, but I've gained some clarity on one issue.

I've had and have the entire day free. No appointments for me or my mom. No errands to run. Can be a double-edged sword, though.

I got to watch probably the dumbest attempt at feeding ducks I've ever seen. Someone was so lazy, they threw a whole small loaf at them, only for one to grab it in it's beak and swim off with it. I don't know what was more priceless, the surprise, or anger when they saw that, or them yelling at a duck in a crowded town center.

^that is hilarious!

Those must be wonderful! Hope you have enough happy occasions coming up!

...And in other news, I dropped something when I was driving, reached down to pick it up and felt something odd in front of my driver's seat. It was the boot I somehow lost in my tiny, tiny car.

Long story...

Love those boots!

I bought a new pressure washer and it works like a charm! It delivers more pressure, is more precise and has more functionalities than my old one that no longer worked anyway.

YAY! I'm finished with repairing my old bicycle. New internal gear hub, new cables and lamps, a few minor repairs. Now I just need the mechanic to shorten the bowden cable tomorrow (that's a bit too tricky for me as it's a matter of 0.5 mm) Btw who constructs gearshifts of precisely 120.5 mm ?? Why not a smooth 120.0 mm ?

Now I just need to find someone who buys my new bicycle. It's not bad at all, only too heavy for me and the frame is a bit too high which makes it difficult for not-so-young people like me to get on and off. Also, after more than 50 years with a coaster break I find it difficult to have 2 hand breaks. That's why I repaired my old one.
