I'll take the bus whenever I need to. And sometimes when I don't.

I am a total mass transit GEEK. I love riding public transit of all kinds - buses, subways, trains, streetcars, whatever. Hell, I'll do it even without any particular destination in mind - the first time I learned how to ride the NYC subway, I did nothing for the rest of that day BUT ride around on the subway.

I don't take the bus in my own home city (Omaha) but that's because our pathetic excuse for a bus system doesn't go anywhere I need to go. But if I lived in a city like New York, Toronto, Boston, etc. which has extensive public transit, I would sell my car in a heartbeat.

I don't hate to drive...but I don't enjoy it, either.

I love driving! Having anxiety issues and looking like a target doesn't help with riding our local buses, either.

I filled a two bedroom house with the contents of my old one bedroom apartment.

I have a bed, two tables, a couch and three shelves, and a desire to be able to host up to ten people.

My friend has an adopted relative who didn't know her biological father, even after hiring a private detective to find him. My friend then took on the case himself, and FOUND HIM!

As far as I know, he hasn't gotten to tell her the good news yet, but I'm hoping & praying it turns out to be a positive experience for both of them!

I'm actually mentally debating the choice between sleeping in a bed in my apartment or sleeping on the floor in my furnitureless house.

Two more days...

Also I decided I will buy expensive scotch on four events this year. Buying the house, my birthday, finishing the Ironman, and Christmas.

Today the oldest son asked me what a thesaurus was. I explained that it was like a dictionary, but that you could look up a word and it give you other words that mean the same thing.

Synonyms? He said.

High Five, I said.

I think I had a bachelors before I knew what a synonym was. He’s doing alright.

I knew where that was going. I saved myself a little money and some time once I was able to quit. It took a few tries and now I realize that it has saved me some anxiety too.

Having a nice Community day in Pokemon Go, got a good handful of Treecko and just ran into and caught a shiny Murkrow! Big thanks to the incense I used. Also got 3 gifts, some items and was able to get a research stamp.

My day's gotten better! Was able to find and catch one last Treecko and then transferred a pair so I'd get up to 100 Treecko candies. Thankfully I had a Grovyle set aside to evolve into a Sceptile. My 7km egg hatched into a Cleffa, so I finally got my last Fairy type Pokemon to earn a badge.

I plead guilty of succumbing to the vernal gardening-urge, too: I dug out the weeds on my terrace and potted tiny tomatos. I also washed the curtains and did a bit of spring cleaning in kitchen, living room and pantry.
And since all good deeds get rewarded I found the bag with my last 3 English treacle toffees ahem... last two by now..
