Surely something good happened to you today

I was in too much pain to cook an evening meal tonight so my wife picked up sausage and chips for us all from the local takeaway. They do a super spicy curry sauce that I can’t replicate at home. Yom.

The “like” is for the yummy-sounding spicy curry sauce, not because you’re in pain!

Just to be clear. (And I hope you’re feeling better soon. :) )

WOW!

I just figured out that I have an amazing set of tools for 3ds Max that I didn't realize I had.

I purchased a set of scripts a few years back and I've been getting free updates ever since. I haven't checked much on new functionality, but I've just visited the coder's website and looked into it again.

I should have been paying attention.

My mother's cat loves to capture the newts that sneak into the lanai. He usually plays with them for a bit then settles on a little chewing, much to their demise... and probably horror. I found one out there yesterday "floating" in the air--clinging to the screen a few feet up. Cat wasn't nearby. I went in to see if I could convince it to leave. It scurried all about. Finally I decided to end the chase and just scoop it up into my hands.

It was a bit terrified... but I was gentle with it. I left a gap open in my hand and it crawled out onto my wrist, partially overlaying my watch band. And then it just stayed there, looking at me. And I looked at it. Close, and far, and close again. It seemed to settle down and wasn't breathing as rapid as before. I took it outside the lanai so I could let it loose. But the darned thing didn't want to leave my arm. I brought it down near the ground and nudged it, but no go. I brought it over to a bush and introduced it to a nice easy leaf to crawl onto. Nope, didn't want to go anywhere. I took it for a short walk to the other side of the lanai and this time I was a little more forceful. Finally, it leaped off onto the nearby bush. Then it swung it's head back over to look at me. I waved goodbye and left the little bugger to take his chances in life.

What was good about it? Just the feeling of rescuing a creature from feline attack and... enjoying the illusion of appreciation. ;)

^amphibians are cold blooded. The little chap used your body warmth ro recharge his batteries :)

Good thing today: the doc says I'm fit to work again on Monday! YAY! (this was my 5th week of sick leave and after the 6th week one gets only 70% of the wages - not good, particularly before Christmas)

We had quite a bit of fresh squeezable snow over night and the kids at school didn’t use it for snowballs as I feared when I woke up. Instead they made snow houses and snowmen. They had a blast and I was relieved that I didn’t have to go around chasing kids that were disobeying the rules.

Actually, most of his body was on my wrist strap, which wasn't all that warm. Maybe it was just warming up hands and feet. ;)

Glad to hear you licked the illness in time to avoid wage deductions but also to be well enough for the holidays. :techman:

I had a bath. A nice one, with candals and classical music on the radio.

I spoke to someone about my problem at last.

And I wrote for a while. When I’m writing, the world is my own.

Still no restitution on the lost apetite or inner peace. It’ll come.
