Surely something good happened to you today

I wanted to order the Forbidden Planet DVD as a Christmas present for the sci fi child, but found that he can watch it on Prime for nothing.

The actual dvd might be nice to have in the bookshelf. I sometimes buy stuff that I can watch for nothing on Netflix just because it’s nice to own it. :)

Welcoming Sint-Nicolaas and black Pete into our country with my childeren, went home with a lot of candy
Je bent een Nederlander? I'd never have suspected that!

Good thing today: had a horrible headache last night and feared it might be connected to my current health probs. Turned out that the forecast predicts the first snow and it's just one of my usual bad weather migraines =)

Ik ben idd een Nederlander, ik dacht dat Mage en ik de enige hier waren.

I hope that we are getting snow this week, i am sorry about your migraine, it's a terrible headache

I delighted my loved ones with homemade potato chips lovingly cut to form their initials. They liked that, and I enjoyed doing it.

I also booked some time off work. I intend spend my free time with my glue gun and a bunch of old boxes and hopefully produce a passable tardis playset. Or I might just sleep.

No, there are quite a few others. Santaman, Christian (though he never posts here anymore) Ghost, adastra and quite a few more afaik.
As for myself - I'm Bavarian and can read and understand Dutch fairly fluently but speak only little. But I'm working on it =)

We had a little sleet this morning but it turned into rain now. I doubt we'll get any lasting snow before Christmas.

Good thing today: it's cookie baking day (and while I am at it I might make a few scones as well)

We’re expecting snow too, in parts. My area is surrounded by high ground that usually gets a covering, but down here by the coast, it never seems to last.

I like snow, but only when I’m warm indoors, near an open fire, and a big clear window where I can sit and watch the masses of penny sized flakes blanket the scenery. The reality though, is sleet, grey slush, frozen feet, and a heater that doesn’t kick out enough heat.

we had snow in the mountains last night. Down here we just had very thick frost. A pity it's cloudy - frost looks so beautiful in the sun =)

Good thing today: cookies #1 (Swiss honeycakes with lots of cherry brandy) are done and turned out very nicely - it was my first try. Usually my mom makes them but she theatened she'll baking-pension herself off next year so I thought it better to start practizing a bit ahead of schedule.
Now I'll have breakfast (well, lunch, technically, as it's 12:15) and then on to cookies #2: grandma's special recipe gingerbread. That's one I've done successfully for some 20 years now - and traditionally let one tray of getting charred :D
