Surely something good happened to you today

It was a sunny day in the Seattle area...in October!

I love Seattle. It's one of my favorite cities that I've ever been to.

I love MoPOP (especially the Trek exhibit), the Monorail, the Space Needle, the Aquarium, the Pacific Science Center, Safeco Field, the Public Market, breakfast at McCoy's Firehouse, dinner at Marcela's Creole Cookery, touring the Seattle Underground, and of course...the GRASSHOPPERS!!! :D

Yes, I HAVE eaten the grasshoppers, and they are delicious. Although Gary Cohen wasn't kidding: they are VERY spicy. Probably the spiciest food I've ever eaten. But it was totally worth it!

(Speaking of the Public Market: You can't go wrong with the FLYING FISH. :D )

Bit of excitement in our town today. They’re filming here at the moment, one local car park is a trailer encampment for the crew. There’s been a helicopter out most of the day and My wife got a great shot of it as we drove past.

Trouble with filming with a low level helicopter so close to the road, no one is watching the road.

Got some Pepsi on sale (not the sugar kind sadly, as they were all out -- went with 2 cherry ones and one regular) and some Fig Newtons (strawberry). Also was able to put my Gyarados into a blue gym in Pokemon Go. And then someone else put in their Magmar as well. It was too fun. Hoping it's able to last all 8 or so hours. :)

Well that didn't last long. Only got 4 coins (it's why I don't bother putting things into gyms that much, not really worth my time).

Had another anxiety fit yesterday and took a spoonfull of valerian root extract. Didn't work against the anxiety but for the first time in weeks I've slept through till 5 am :)
I dream of sleeping past 5am, but then I wake up at 4.

Today has been quite good. I got a free day at work to do stuff. The kids did trick or treat. And our house sale collapsed, informally. It’s funny that I should field relieved, but the waiting for it to happen is over. I like that.

Got a few pieces of free candy from a worker at Walmart! They were nice enough to offer my mom and I some :). Also picked up an Icee and a bag of Reese's peanut butter cups.
Reminds me, I found a place to order Butter Fingers and Babe Ruth bars in the U.K. Always wanted to try them.

Reese’s we already have here. Not keen.

I love reese's buttercups but unfortunately they are not available in Germany. Or maybe fortunately, with regards to my waistline.. ;)
We used to have butterfingers but they got banned from Germany in 1999 because they are made with genetically engineered corn (all genetically engineered ingredients are strictly forbidden in food over here)

Ah.

They're worth it! (Butterfingers) They're one of my favorite Halloween candies.

Sucks about Butterfingers. But I can see why they banned them. I hate how GMO's get snuck into food. It's a pain in the butt finding food that doesn't have it in it.

Ironically, that, Reeses and a few others are some of the ok candy here state side. I hate stuff with High Fructose Corn Syrup in it. And some of the candy has that junk in it. I try to avoid it as much as I can.

Just got done with having some surgery done on me. It went well. :)

It's Friday again and I have to work only till noon =). Plus my boss took the day off and I'll be able to work completely uninterrupted. YAY! No phone calls every 2 minutes, no ordering me to do things I am already well in the process of doing (having a brain and common sense and actually applying both), no expecting me to work miracles like drawing and printing 20 maps in 10 minutes. - utter bliss =)

I had a day off. I had a snooze. I bought food for the weekend. I had a proper bacon and egg butty. I arranged a beer for tonight. I had a nice long bath. I wrote half a chapter of my epic contemporary space epic. I got to pick the kids up from school, instead of Afterschool Club. I ate a bag of Halloween Haribo.

And the night is still young. Macdonalds next, and then out to the pub.

I slept the better part of the afternoon. I woke up a couple of times, but mostly it was good sleep until I woke up overheated.

I also bought my new license plate tabs (tags) and renewed my driver's license.

Expensive day, but it felt good to get stuff accomplished.

Got off work today and went to my local music store and there in the 'New Releases' section was The Moody Blues 'In Search of the Lost Chord 50th Anniversary' box set.
4 CDs/1 DVD.
Spinning it right now on my CD player.
Next Friday, the 50th anniversary release of The Beatles 'White Album'.
Can't wait.
